Artist's Comments

This one is very different from the others. It's weird. I really should do more like this, more that rely on colour more than shape (unlike the others which are really about form highlighted/enhanced/complimented/contrasted/emphasised with colour) but something about it just... I titled it 'I' because I intend to go back and do another one of these using exactly the same form-pattern but in the normal form-first style just to see which one ultimately looks better.

I don't know why, but when working on this one, I found myself suddenly stripped of all feelings of relevance, professionalism, and adulthood. I felt as though I might as well be doodling on newsprint with Crayolas; all that colour feels somehow peurile, like I was making something rather than *creating* something, like I was back in kindergarten doodling without actually making anything of any aesthetic worth, much less meaning or significance. I dunno. Maybe I'm just neurotic.
