Meet Gorbash! He is my first dragon sculpture and is a little baby dragon. He is 3x3.5 in clay sculpture over an armature. He then was accented with acrylics, glaze and glass eyes. He comes with a Certificate of authenticity and is coated with a UVA/UVB protectant that has locked in the colors. Would make a fine guardian for any home.

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 5, 2006 11:58 amActually, you could sort of do that- put the little guy on a mountain which hides a pump for releasing steam. IT would totally be cute ^^ --- |

Ash Evans (Reply)Total Posts: 187Dec 5, 2006 12:30 pmhmmm..I am going to have to keep that one in mind. Thanks for the tip. I was going to make one an incense holder where the smoke comes out their nose and what have you but I haven't figured out how to rig the armature yet. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 5, 2006 1:48 pmThe thing that keeps it up right? I've had a *small* look into clay work, but haven't delved into it yet so my knowledge is poor. --- |

Ash Evans (Reply)Total Posts: 187Dec 5, 2006 2:15 pmI use a polymer clay that dosen't harden until you bake it and it is pretty reasonably priced. For the details I use clay tools and sometimes a pin. The armature is the "guts" made out of metal wire and tinfoil. dickblick.com has some reasonable polymer clay if you are interested. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 5, 2006 2:30 pmAhhh- I guessed right ^^ Does all polymere clays set in heat? --- |

Ash Evans (Reply)Total Posts: 187Dec 5, 2006 2:39 pmThat I don't know for sure but I would lean toward yes. Dickblick gives descriptions with each one though. I have to make another dragon! I posted Gorbash today and he is sold already. I am working on another right now. --- |

Ash Evans (Reply)Total Posts: 187Dec 5, 2006 4:36 pmHe was my first dragon and I sold him for 25 plus shipping. I am working on another one and he is an inch bigger so he will be 28. I like to keep the smaller works 30 or under but there is a LOT of work that goes into them. Gorbash took me 4 days to sculpt, bake and paint. --- |

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 5, 2006 5:26 pmI was just going to say that $25 is VERY reasonable. Even in New Zealand dollars, being origanal, that would convert nicely ^^ I'm almost tempeted to buy one if I hadn't just looked at my bank account O.o I gotta stop buying comics!! XD --- |

Ash Evans (Reply)Total Posts: 187Dec 5, 2006 6:09 pmThe red one has a longer neck and is actually free standing. He also has yellow eyes. He is also 4x4 in --- |
