This was WHAT I wanted to send out to everyone as a Christmas card- if only I didn't get completly fed up with colouring it cause I didn't have a suitable background to put it on. Carefull consideration got me taking a photo of a fake Xmas tree and slapping it into the back ground (I'm so cheap), but fitting her onto the tree was the difficult one. She's... digitally drawn with linearts and all.
That's when the spirit of Christmas put a big circle around the chrome function
Oh good lord. I HATED this function till now. it's PERFECT for the glass effect for the glassy decorations!!! AHHHH!!!! *dies*
Anyways- this is PURELY a Kiwi Christmas card *NZ Pride*
Pohutakawa is New Zealand's Christmas tree cause it always flowers in December, ready for Christmas, and it has that gorgeous red and green colour Christmas is so famous for
I didn't want to go for the American snow theme cause well- I'm not American and frankly, I LOVE Christmas on the beach
I was tossing up a beach or something pic, then I thought- Pohutakawa fairy. A fairy dressed as our tree. I love how it turned out- there is alot of mistakes, but I'm definetly not tackling them tonight. Too tired, so crit away if you want. I'll print them this weekend when I have some nice paper to print on
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

SaikonoYumeTotal Posts: 316Dec 11, 2006 4:53 amOh, how pretty! I love her hair the most (>< I'm such a girl like that). The combination of red and green in her hair is really neat. I also really like the textures on her. Very cool. --- That which fell from the sky was not rain

arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 11, 2006 3:24 pmYeah- the hair was inspired by the feeler bits the Pohutakawas have- all plated up and stuff. I was trying for an elegant look ^^ --- |

It's very original^^ She reminds me of some kind of flower that grows here (don't remember the name). I actually like the background, and the whole piece alot.^^ Don't see much to roast. arkillian (Reply)Total Posts: 3138Dec 23, 2006 1:09 amNaugh. Totally differnt. This tree is a native to New Zealand. Unless someone was stpid enough to export it, I'd doubt you'd find it anywhere but here. It only flowers in spring- a few weeks before Xmas here --- |

Sayonara Ame (Reply)Total Posts: 1617Dec 24, 2006 5:03 amI figured as much.*scrathes head* Now that I've seen the entire tree it looks quite different. I agree, nobody would want to import it here. ---

Sayonara Ame (Reply)Total Posts: 1617Dec 25, 2006 3:15 amI don't think anyone wants to invest money to import trees... Not to mention the nature here is often abused. ---
