Gates are rare, but extremely potent. They can lead anywhere, and that anywhere is not always good. Even if you are lucky enough to find a gate, there's no promise that it will open for you, or even that you will be able to see it. And once you've gone there and back again, you probably won't be able to get back in the same way (you see, you've already tried).
Still, it's best to keep your eyes and heart open. You can never really know where the magic starts.

And here's my post for today — better late than never, yes?
Another old piece, this one is watercolors and colored pencil on 9"x12" Bristol board. The image pretty much popped into my head all at once and I had to paint it. I love the idea that there could be magic gates to fairy-lands anywhere in the world.
Enjoy.

SaigithTotal Posts: 191Nov 10, 2007 4:53 pmMakes me think of the Chronicles of Narina, with the gates and all. Anyways, besides this being an older picture, I still think it's great. ^^ --- "One step closer and my sword shall find a new sheath." Lael quote
