Dante and Vergil (revised)

Ah, Arigato. Thank you so much my little Nut. I am so happy that it is getting some love. I worked really really hard on this background. And know what? I couldn't have done it without your constant love and support and encouragement. Not to mention your wonderfully brilliant ideas. You helped me so much. Hah! See Chas? I DID listen to you about the light on the swords. ^_^ See? I did! Heehee. And thank you for always being honest with me and helping me with my art. If I didn't listen to you, I would be crazy. But yes, the clouds didn't turn out the way I wanted them to. And that was the main part of the background that I was afraid to do. >_< Any pointers on how to fix them? I also want to fix that little pillar that has the snake/skull on it. It looks a little "off" to me. But I will do that tomorrow. Let me know if you have any advice on the clouds. Bestow upon me your knowledge oh wise one. Well, I didn't figure it would hurt. Damn... you're right. I do need to smooth those out. Actually just darken them a bit more. I have something else to fix on it as well, but I am going to wait until tomorrow to do that. For now I am going to go and relax and get my hands working again. I think my fingers are numb from holding that dang pencil for the past 2 days. Such is the life of one who draws. Ah well. I am being worshipped? Thank you thank you thank you! Mwah, mwah! But, alas, I cannot take all of the credit for myself as my trusty pencils did most of the drawing. It was a long and tedious journey. And we lost a few along the way. But after our tearful goodbyes to our fallen comrades, we knew there was work to be done. With a new hope, we trudged on and were finally able to cast that accursed ring into the fires of Mount Doom. No wait a minute.... that was Frodo. Anywhoo, my pencils and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind worshipping. OKay, well pencils don't really have hearts. But if they did, I know they would thank you from the bottom of them. I think I need less coffee in my diet... All my love. mwah! ^_^

Yay! I am so happy that you like it hun. Man my cheeks hurt from smiling. Everyone has been so nice and helpful to me on this one. It is such an awesome feeling. But anyhow, the background took me longer to do than the characters did. That skelestatue alone took about an hour to shade properly. I need to fix the clouds, but I can do that another time. Oh dear, you never depress me. I NEED to know what to improve on. How else am I going to become fabulous? Now let's see... what to address first? Hmm... I think I see what you mean about the statue. Though I am not quite sure how to fix that. The swords really are supposed to be this big. And Dante's sword (the guy on the left) IS really that huge. The sword is called Alastor and is just about as big as he is. Dante's eye probably should be moved back a tad bit from the bridge of the nose. >_< Well I do have some other things I want to fix on this as well. So it looks like I will be doing alot of fixing-up today. No matter though. That is what I need to do to get my pictures to be all sparkly and beautiful. So no worries love. I need your advice. Really really. Thank you so very much for all of your help. All my love. mwah!

I saw Karana saying the same thing to you about the background. You can use the eraser but only slightly. I have a special eraser for charcoal. Maybe you could use one like that.

I bet you are really busy making all of those prettiful pictures, huh? This is definitely one I put alot of time into. I worked on it the better part of 2 days. The characters I had all done within an hour and a half, but the background took forever!!! Oh my gosh... you wouldn't believe how stuck I was trying to figure out what kind of BG to do with this. Because I know that the skele-statue looks like it is coming out of Dante's back. So I will have to practice more with the background. But I am overall happy with myself because I usually stay away from backgrounds. And I decided to step up to the plate and finally try to do them. I am working on fixing up a few little things here and there and I was honestly thinking about completely blackening up the sky instead of having the brighter areas of the clouds. As for the bg, I am really needing to work on the skele-statue so it doesn't look like it is attached to Dante's back. So I think maybe if I darken up the base of it a bit maybe it will put some depth in there. I'll just have to play around with it. Thank you so very much for your wonderful advice honey. DON'T make those clouds whiter!!! The idea was to draw more attention to the fight. What I normally do is grey out the sky, and blacken the clouds- gives an off cast look- like rain. Depression If you push the state back by darkening it, or darkening the area close to Dante, that would be bette than putting un needed detail into scenery which isn't as improtant as the fight. My way of looking at it is- the important stuff is bright, the unimportant stuff is dark. Everything else is upto the light source. Anyways- with a sky THIS dark, the BG is going to be un highlighted anyways
