YAY! Arkillian gave me the correct solution.. I should have known all along. I was just doing things in the wrong order, is all.
Anyhow, this is pretty close to what the original looks like. Thanks to all for your suggestions and help! I'm leaving the old one up for comparison (at least for a little while).

Lady Anime79Total Posts: 2835Dec 12, 2005 5:52 pmRobin it looks simply breath-taking! And yes you can immediately see the difference. Especially on the ground in front of her where all of those bright yell0w splotches were. Yes, the tinting is much more subtle now. You can see the difference in color just from here to the thumbnail of the old one. Absolutely gorgeous hun. All my love to you. Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1823Dec 14, 2005 12:42 amYes, I hated those splotches too. They really got on my nerves, to be quite honest. I hate it when scanners pick up things like that that are barely noticeable in the original. I'm so glad you can see the difference, too. I thought it was fairly substantial, myself... But then again, I have the original in front of me (at least for a little while...) --- |

This and your fortune teller and the one you did for my birthday present are my absolute favorites. I can't wait to get the print. I am so excited for it. I can't wait to hang it on my wall for everyone to see. --- Laughter is the best medicine and your face is curing the world. |

Minimaid (Reply)Total Posts: 1823Dec 14, 2005 12:48 amI agree about the eyes. unfortunately, the pencil crayon I used to colour them was darker than I expected - Can't really fix that without losing a lot of shading on the face. I mean, I could fix it on the computer, but there isn't really much point to that - I want the scan to be true to the original rather than doctored up. I'm weird that way, I guess. As for more yellow... Well, It might be nice, but I really and truly don't want to put any more colour onto it. I'm getting to the point where if I touch it much more I might rip it up, and then I might make EvilBunnySlippers sad. THough yes - more yellow WOULD give it more of an old-photo look, I agree. It's just... gah. It's tough to tint properly with cheap pencilcrayons, I guess. I'm a wimp... --- |

Sayonara Ame (Reply)Total Posts: 1603Dec 14, 2005 3:57 amI understand you want to keep it looking as close as possible to the original. I mean it's no big deal to fix it on the puter. I t would be weird if I fixed up an oil painting in Photoshop. lol. So here's my tip for you in such cases. I usually take a knife and cut my rubber so it will have a sharp end. That way you won't get anything unnecessary erased. You could try that next time. Yes, blarg, those cheap crayons, I had the exact same thing with my Shippo pic. Anyhow I love your work, just keep it up. And you're very welcome. ---
