BogusRed (Reply)Total Posts: 2895Feb 25, 2006 2:38 amI know exactly what you are talking about with concern to school. Art school is really hard. The teachers are critical and the students are critical. It does get to the point where art as a career doesn't look like so much fun. That's how I feel anyway. I've been in university now for five years. I have one more year to go before I get my degree in illustration. It gets to the point where all you see is the bad stuff in your own art, and that's really paralyzing. I'm still recovering from the effects of my last semester. It isn't for everyone. I'd drop out if I wasn't so close to finishing the program. I'm not even going to try and pursue Art as a career anymore. Instead I'll aim for a job doing web development. --- Help me squarsh bugs |

Lunarbabe4 (Reply)Total Posts: 327May 15, 2006 5:58 pmThis piece is one of my top ten most favorite pieces on this site( the other nine are also yours but that's not the point). You shouldn't take what other people say about your art too seriously. Sure, you may need a little improvement and it's always good to realize that, BUT not everyone likes this gloomy fantasy artwork and that's not your fault. Accept the criticism that can help you in your weak areas and bypass the criticism that is aimed at the subject of your piece (especially if the subject is dear to you, as this one seems to be). I love your work. PLEASE, continue! --- There's no pause button for life. You have dive in while the water's deep. Got it? No one's gonna make you get on with your life; you have to do that yourself. Katrkoriza (Reply)Total Posts: 86May 15, 2006 7:57 pmThis one is dear, I worked really hard to make sure this one, was as good as I could possbile do it, and that the idea would be more fresh then others have done about this type of feeling. I wanted to give up many times painting it cause I found things I couldn't or didn't know how to do, so I struggled to fix them, or do what I could. Something that you wanna express like sadness, and such shouldn't be a 2 minute project, you should put all your effort into showing how you feel if you make a picture about it (or atleast thats how I feel most of the time about it) --- |

I love how you drew the fur against the clothing textures. Well Drawn --- I'm writing a novel called, The Vampire's Locket. So, if you like Vampiric Romances, then go read it!!
