Artist's Comments

Well here's where I am so far. The details are taking a lot more time than I thought and I just don't seem to be able to find the time to work on it as I want to.

Anyways I decided to put my last 3 WIP pics together and delete the others.

I have a question for minimaid if she's reading this. What color is his hair?

I think it's better to take a lot of time on details 'speically when it come to armour. It took me three months to make the ugly picture of two knights. Oh man. Besides that, he is coming a long very very well. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, My patience dies after like 5 minutes. [emoticon] You could always put it down, work on a chibi or something simple [emoticon] and then come back when you think your ready. That's what I do, or just go watch TV and say "f it.". [emoticon]

Now there's a wonderful idea but unfortunately i'm one of those people who just can't start a new drawing until the current one is done. Oh well.

They have fairly dark hair. Usually black, brown, or a reddish-auburn colour. Dark because they mostly spend their lives underground, and so don't get sun bleached enough for the lighter streaks.

This is looking really good, luv! No worries about however much time it takes you. [emoticon] The end result will be that much more marvellous if I have the patience, aye?

Much love, my friend.

Thanks Robin, for your infinite patience. I am kinda going overboard with the details on this but I think it'll be worth it.

Also thanks for the info. I think he's going to look great with the dark hair. I was realy hoping he had dark hair. I bet your brother's saying it's about darn time!!!

Unfortunately, Eric's not working on this game anymore... He and the guy he was working on it with sort of... fell out of touch, shall we say. I thought I would still work on developing the world, nonetheless. If nothing else, it would make for a swell D&D campaign...

I love details. [emoticon] You should know that by now. Your end result will be rich to see, I'm sure. Don't give yourself blisters, luv. *hugs*

Oh what a bummer. I guess I just took too long. I sincerely apologize for the long wait. I'll try to make it up by putting as much details as I possibly can.

Nay, you did not, ducky. DOn't fret over it. It was an awkward family affair, and they just... well, they aren't really friends anymore, so the game isn't to be. That's ok. I'm still making the world, slowly but surely. I'll still be able to use Gaer'yt, so no worries, righto?

Like I said, though - don't tire yourself out, ok? The kids need their daddy to be awake and alert for when they find that nefarious pencil!

Minimaid, I've seen this on his Art table. The scans don't do it justice. (niether does the dust collecting on his art table...shhh did I just say that. Sorry Den!) I often prefer sketchs to finished work, makes you wonder where it is all going.

I really like seeing the evolution of this picture - the little subtle changes and tweaks made here and there. Thank you for putting the three versions up! It's coming along beautifully.

Thank you, but I must confess that those little tweaks are the result of my indecisiveness and constant design corrections.

Thank you though for the lovely comment, it makes me feel like i'm going in the right direction with it.

I wouldn't know much about overdoing detail, that's for sure. [emoticon] I say, there's no such thing as too much detail. Now not enough detail, that's my problem. [emoticon] Echk. I have no patience.

Anyway, this drawing is coming out great! I reeeealy can't wait to see when it's done!

I wouldn't put too much thought into it. I find that my patience is tested more than not these days when it comes to my details. I seem to be becoming very impatient as I get older.

As for the completion date? I'm not sure yet. I keep thinking up of more and more things to put into the pic everytime I sit at my art table.

I certainly hope that's not the case for everyone, because I'm pretty impatient as it is! Eek!

As for the completion date, I can certainly wait. I know that it'll be great no matter how long it takes for you to finish! [emoticon]

Wow again!: [emoticon] : This is so neat! It's great to see how the character gets shape and depth. You're doing a great job! [emoticon] Even so I'm most impressed with the first version of it. I don't think I could draw so accuraltey at least not at the beginning stage. [emoticon] Again, great job and detail! This is such a work of art! [emoticon]
You know, looking at this reminds me of the statue of Justice with a blindfold over her eyes. [emoticon]

You know after reading your comment about Lady justice I just can't stop seeing her everytime I look at this now. This is a good thing though as i've always thought of her as beautiful in a very classical and statuesque way.
Also i'm glad you like the different stages/changes i've made along the way. The first version was also my favorite but the later ones slowly grew on me until I ended up with the one you see now in my latest WIP. The choice was not mine but the friend I am drawing this for and believe me once you've seen her art you'll know why I hold her suggestions/critiques in such high regard.

Thank you for commenting and I do hope you like the finished version when its done.

Yes, Minimaid's art is quite spectacular. [emoticon] I think I have a long way to go before I'll be as good as any of you. [emoticon] Anyhow, I'll be looking forward to see the finished piece, and I'm sure it'll look great just like the rest of your art. [emoticon] Keep it up! [emoticon]
