I am sure that it looks much better in person, the lighting is a bit harsh and washes out the flower. I think that it is a very nice piece, it must be difficult to paint on wood. Thanks for sharing.

It does, I had the hardest time photographing it because of the sealant I put on the wood after I finished painting it. I get a washout or a glare or both because the surface is shiny. In retrospect I should have taken it before I varnished it.I will try to get a better on this weekend because it is a great piece. Painting on wood isn't too bad but it dries almost instantly so you have to be quick, which is an odd transition from oils for me.
