Vector art is some of my Favorite, but hard to master. Its what is best for print work too.

Uh... hmm... it's kinda hard to explain but vector is points in space rather than pixels. I know that sounds weird. It's meant to be sharper than a raster image (which is composed of pixels) so not matter how big you blow it up or how small you shrink it, it will always keep the same image quality. It's used for printing a lot and illustrating [emoticon] I dunno know if that really explained anything [emoticon] you can probably get a more technical run down of it if you type in 'vector graphics' on Wiki.
