I think it looks great so far. I love the face that is done, it has a nice soft look. The hair over the ear and the along the side of the face does seem a little too blunt to me. Maybe pulling a few pieces down would solve that problem. I can't wait to see it done.

Hmm.. is it the haircut itself or is it something else? Cause Kyo's hair is cut like that IRL.

The hair along the side of his face looks to be all the same length, like it was chopped off rather bluntly. It you place a few longer strands in there, it would look more natural to me.

Since this is a WIP, it is hard to see completely where you are going to go, but don't forget to get some really dark values in the deepest shadows and wrinkles on the clothing. Other than that, it looks really good.

Ah, yes, I'm currently working on that, since I'd like to get some more contrast in the painting. :] And I'm going to make something out of the "background", too, haha.
