First, Soul Caliber 3 totally ROCKS!!! *ahem* Second, what I usually do with black is instead of shading is I tint which is the exact opposite of shade. Instead of darkening areas try using a lighter grey or white on top of the black where the light source is supposed to be hitting it. This is fairly hard to do so I recomend finding refrences. Hope that helped [emoticon]

Oh yes, Soul Calibur 3 DOES rox! And I did SOMEWHAT do what you suggested mixing a grey with the black, except, I keep fearing when I push harder to make the color smoothed out with the texture, that the detail lines will go away, ARG lol. Perhaps I should find reference, or maybe..test it out on another piece of paper before-hand XD. Thanks for the comment and advice [emoticon]

No problem & don't worry about the lineart when you press hard with prisma pencils you can always go over them again with a black pen besides prisma's always look best when they are put on thick especially with cartoon characters and if you're still worryning about those lines disappering you can always put the emphasis of the grey or white right next to them to show that there is a fold or something.

I don't know Soul Caliber as I haven't played or seen anything decent for a long time. [emoticon] But this guy's is cool. [emoticon]
I love his clothes and the green hair and eyes.
Now, a few things to fix. First of all, he looks a bit off in proportion and a little asymmetrical. I think his body should have been a little longer cause usually an adult's body is at least three times the length of the head. Just remember that for the next time. His body seems flat, squished into his arm. One more thing, his pupils seem as if he's looking at his nose, all you need to do is change the direction the light comes from in Lee's right eye. As for shading, you could either use different shades of pencils or for example use a black pen to go over the lines, or some other medium. Hope it helped. [emoticon]

Eeek, don't know Soul Calibur? [emoticon] . If you've a PS2 you MUST MUST get it! lol XD. And yes, my Lee IS cool isn't he? ^^. I agree with you in him looking of asymetrically, especially with how I have his shoulders, it's like I scrunched him or something, though I did give it a go with him being turned sideways, perhaps if I broadened him out more o.o,. I also agree with his eyes..too me though, instead of looking like he's stairing at his nose, he looks more like he has been drugged and just woke up O_x. Thanks for the advice and comments ^_^

Of course I don't, are you kidding me? I have no PS2. All I play is what I can download. lol.
You know, if you don't want him looking distorted then you should try drawing sort of a stick man first in order to get his proportions right, I'm not quit sure how to put it in English, hope it made sense to you. Hehe, he really looks drugged now that you mention it. Sortof reminds me of Ville Valo. [emoticon] Anyhow, youre welcome.^^
