Critiques for "In the air- Pencils"

His leg thoughs funny though....cause he's wearing pants right...so...i dont think it look quite like that?

The pants look odd? I'm not sure if I see how. Do expand

the leg that is straight, well, doesnt look like it has pants on it, so i dont think it would be so, form'ing on it?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by his leg being straight and looking like he's not wearing pants. Would it be simpler to draw over my picture and e-mail what you mean?

Oh hun! This is beautiful!! I love it!! The shading is wonderful! You really know how to shade! And his face I would have to say...is very handsome! *blush*

*giggles* That is Alex for you Charming as heck, and he can handle ANYTHING. Except girls. They are from a different planet from him- ie, don't exist. He's so use to girls fawning over him, he tends to ignore them unless they make *intellegent* conversation. Or if they are HER. But she's been his love interest since he was born, which is weird, cause he ages fast. He was mearly a kid when he confessed his love for her. Athena beeing more like 10 at the time ^^;

Oh man! Soozie..thats sounds like a really good story...i was getting into reading that little bit until it ended hee hee. I think that is interesting..I mean i hope I don't sound dumb...but is that a story line you made up or something else because that interests me....and I see why he is all over her she is beautiful! The characters are great. But other than that...just let me know

^^ It's seriously only the tip of the iceberg. And Alex doesn't just love her for her looks- in this world, blonds are very undesirable to be. It's cause the spirit of pure evil always incarnates into blond people. It has put a bad taste in everyones mouth. Alex kind of got love struck as a kid- he has some weird intuition. I donno how I do it, but Alex has what I can only describe as Batsence, but insteed of for fighting, its more about his limitations and judgement. He just knows if he can do something, or if something is ment to be. It's weird. In one of my stories, he was weak against water (being a fire elemental), and jumped from the top of a cliff to sve his brother in enchanted rain. Hurt him like crazy, but he managed to make it somehow!!

No problem- just don't ask me to explain the UNIVERSE. That takes a good 2 hours in person, and I'd probably leave a heap out- I've forgoten as much as I've created. It comes back when its needed though

ok i shouldn't even bother to point this out but his foot looks like a log, hehe. seems to me he's got some long flat feet, hehe anywho's so far so good! no..well actually more like amaizin'! this has really come together nicley, now all i can suggest is ake a deep breath, and finish it... hehe. i'd fav. this one but i'll wait for the finished peice

You can fav it if tyou want- the colour it gonna be a while- I'm a busy gal, and it's taking a while ^^;

The foot- yeah, that's a funny one. It's not showing much of an arch- I'll se what I can do- I may redraw/scan that area if I still can. Hmm....

Hurm... I must agree about the oddness of Alex's foot. The wrinkles at the ankle suggest that it should be curled upward, toward Athena, abut the foot itself contradicts that, and bows in the other diraction, as well. He also seems to lack an instep.

One more thing - I don't know if you made it this way intentionally - but most marble looks best when the lines are on a consistent angle according to the seperate pices of the atructure it makes up... Here's an example:

The shading is absolutely wonderful so far, though! I love the lack of outline, it makes thinks seem far more dreamlike, and really brings out your pencilwork. This is looking great, Soozie!

DAMN IT!! I was serching the net for like.... an HOUR for a descent marble pic!! *runs arround in frenzy* The net haaaaates me!!! *cries* Yeah- feet are a bad thing for me- I think it's cause it doesn't have a solid grounding that it looks wrong. Curving like it does is good though. He's contradicting his body weight- just not efficently with him not actually touchingthe pillars!! XD The stuff you see when it's DONE ^^; This is why I'm FAR from being a professional artist

Curving is good, I know - but like you say, something to rest against is good, but also... his foot looks too flat. It would be a little thicker close to the ankle as well as in the centre, generally (unless her got stepped on by an elephant. )

And hey! Practise makes perfect. I don't think any of us here are really professional artists yet...

Very nice! The shading is wonderful and their faces look very expressive Though I'd have to agree with the others that the foot and leg look odd. Maybe shorten his foot and have less of a curve to it. But I like it and can't wait to see it colored! I'm such a fan of your stuff!

Hmmm- I don't think its the length. The length is ment to be the hight of the head. It's the height of the foot I think- he looks a little flat. Plus he's not really balancing on anything. I don't know how much I can photoshop out, but I'll try when I get back to it ^^; Thanks for the love though ^^ :huggles:

oh darn it! i just commented on the WIP for this and didn't see the finished. Well it looks pretty sweet. her cheak bone still looks too intense so you may want to airbrush it out or erase it just a bit. or not. i know you want to be done with it. Nice work.

I may in the colour, but it's not too bad- only a little dark, so I'll leave it for now. Thanks for the comment anyways
