I'm getting better with fire- the first step IS getting the colours right though ^^; It doesn't matter ho nicely blended you make it if the hot spot is the FURTHEREST part of the flame XD Redoing it was the best thing I could've done

thanks I'm getting slowly beter at fire. The flames in this one are more realistic than the last. Now it's up to Alex to be the spunkiest man in the comp XD

It seems like you have tried something different with them this time from your last pic of Alex Dragon. They seem to be more illuminated this time. Of course I could be just totally stupid as well. I love the flare on the sword too. It gives the sword character as well. Beautiful work hun as always.

A few things different- some of the lays were blended with a colour dodge rather than normal blend, I used a motion blur to give it a movement feel rather than just a blur, and I did alot of glow and transparency effects. That is what took the time ^^;

Haha! I am just now getting into using the color dodge on some of the pics I am working on. I almost like using that more than the glow effect. I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I can only imagine the time it took. Well rest assured that the extra time and effects really have turned it into a spectacular piece of artwork. All my love.

A hint with glow- I duplicate the layer I want glowing, gaussian blur the top layer, and stighly blur the second. It gives a nice glow without losing it's body The wings are 90% gaussian blurs just like that. A technique I picked up while surfing ^^

Yeah- ALOT of work ^^; I don't think I would've wanted to try this in a traditional method- I'm not that good ^^;
