This blog will be primarily about my art but also little personal things about me. My life completely impacts my art so the two go hand in hand. I hope people get a better understanding of my art through this blog as well as being informed of new art, upcoming projects and new products.

Hi Everyone,

This is my last post before I leave today and maybe my last post before I get back depending on if the hotel has internet. I am taking my laptop in the hopes that they do. They are calling for snow here and I hope it all holds off till after we leave. I joked there would be a blizzard here before we left. I joke like that a lot, sickly things come true, sadly I never joke about success or money. No I joke about my back going out and blizzards and getting bad placement at shows.

I had such trouble sleeping last night. I woke up at 5 am anxious cleaned till 8 and went back to bed. I had to set my alarm so I can get more stuff done. The show stuff is all ready. I just need to pack my clothes (what do you wear to a new age trade show anyway???)and clean for my generous in laws who are staying with the pets.

I actually get to spend a little time with my dad while I am in FL. He is coming to the shows for a few days. I haven't seen him since my wedding so it will be nice to catch up. I just hope he doesn't get called away on business. It wouldn't be different then any other time he is a total work a holic. I am a little nervous about Johnnie driving 14 1/2 hours straight. He says he can but he stops every 10 min to eat drink and pee. If there ever is a zombie outbreak I am just going to shoot him it will be more humane....right after he helps me jack some weapons...

I did get an email from Spoutwood fairy fest stating the juries will be looking now. So I am glad that they haven't looked yet!! Lets pray to the hosting gods my site it up and happy when they are looking. I just missed Spoutwood last year the coordinator was nice enough to email me and say just missed it. I felt like someone popped my balloon though I guess that is better then waaaaaay off. I have this horrible apprehension that I won't make it into any shows this year for some reason.I hope I do though that is where I make most of my money for the year. Everything happens for a reason one way or another I guess.

I may be taking some painting stuff with me to pass the time. That way when I get home I can throw some art at you all! I have been hanging onto a little sculpture that will go up when I get back. Well I need to go and take Conversation Heart worm to the post office so he can make his way to his new home!!!

It looks great and really professional looking. I really like our geeky van now. I hope I have internet access at the hotel in Orlando because if we do I will be checking in with folks on here, and posting what is going on at the show. Maybe post photos of the trip down and all.

My 3 day site is turning into a 2 week headache and now my mail is down. It all needs to be fixed TOMORROW! I am getting all ready to go. My print and card samples are arriving tomorrow!

SO I spent a lot of the day spray painting! It is mostly stuff for INATS, who knows I may get good enough to tag a bridge or something. I still have a little more to do so I will be doing that tomorrow as well. It has been so cold it is hard to do but INATS waits for no man.

Ev is formatting images for the new webby site and one of several hurdles that was totally borking my site has been resolved. (little yay) I hope to have it all taken care of before I leave. The Car decal is almost completely adhered, the freezing cold again is wrenching my monkey.

Still so much to do, I also have so many ideas for my book. I am glad cause I am going to have to get cranking on that as soon as I get back. I may be doing a painting demo at INATS, it depends on how fast I get myself together. I don't know I don't like people watching me paint but who knows it may be a good thing for me.

I am starting to sleep a little better. Reading before bed seems to help a little. I am on my 4th OZ book so I am trucking right along.

Well off to spray on the deck and run in fast as I can cause it is soooooo cold!!!

This weekend just flew! I had a myriad of distractions from birthdays to my website STILL being down. I did manage to get a few things done for INATS though. I got some print books assembled and a few things packed. I plan on finishing packing all of my merchandise tomorrow or the next day depending on when my whole sale print samples arrive.

Despite the freezing cold Johnnie and I have managed to get my car decal on. Because of the cold it will take longer then normal to adhere to the van. We should be able to take the protective cover off of it tomorrow. It does look really awesome and I will post pictures as soon as it is unveiled. I only wish I had a website for people who look at it to SEE. I really really regret trying to get this done before the show. This "three day job" has taken almost 2 weeks and the site has been down that long AND I still have nothing to show for it except missing money from my bank account. I really hope it was worth the lost business in the long run. I am already having whole sale inquiries from the INATS site and I just wonder how many saw the downed site and said forget it. I hope no juries have looked yet.

I am really looking forward to getting back to real work after this whole hoopla dies down. I have a deadline of May for my book which seems far away but not far away enough for the illustrations I mean to do for "Z"

I got sleep!!! I guess that hour and a half I got the night before paired with me going to bed at midnight did the trick. I hope I can keep this up and get something every night.I have been so busy and it is so hard to maintain that with zero energy.

I cut off pretty much all my hair yesterday. It was so long there where piles everywhere. I just wanted to make a change. I will post pictures of it some time. I still haven't located my huge mega pixel camera.I hope to locate it soon. I got my car decal yesterday and my Pop and Johnnie are going to install it this weekend and I will post some pictures! I guess then you get to see my hair.

I finished the second Oz book while I was having trouble sleeping! I hope to hammer out another one on the trip to Orlando next week.I am keeping to my revolutions so far. It is only January so we will see what happens.

I may have some good news on the figurine front. I got all of my samples in the mail (like one year later and only because the sweet guy in China made me more and sent them) and I am pitching them to other companies. There is a good chance they will be made again. I do still have the 5 figurines that I have out now in stock if anyone is interested.

My website is still down, I am really sorry about that and I am doing what I can to get the person working on my site to have it up ASAP.

Well I have to get dimensions on my new samples and get stuff together for INATS. I unfortunately haven't had time to paint but I will do so ASAP.

I still can't sleep!!! I don't fall asleep till like 3AM!! I tried the sleepy time tea and sleep aroma therapy and the whole let but NO SLEEP FOR YOU! I hate it. I sleep so late and I have to scramble the rest of the day. I am hoping it is just INATS jitters and I will get some AFTER it is over. Also I am totally stressing about my site being down! I didn't think she would crash my old one and not have a new one yet. Jurys will be looking soon and I hope they already haven't been there and been like PASS!! I make most of my money for the year at these shows so that will kill me.

I have so much stuff going on right now. I am making merchandise,getting ready for INATS, signing 50 figurines and tons of stuff. I need to get some frames ready for the show,shop for draping fabric on a serious budget. I hate that my only way to sell things is EBAY at the moment. It is hurting my sales at a time when I need the money the most.I am feeling the serious stress of the situation. I can't believe I leave for Orlando in a week.

My internet has been up and down the past two days. They are doing construction by my house and they keep knocking out the cable. I hope that it stays up.

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been feeling all that great this weekend, so Johnnie made me take it easy work wise. I really need to learn how to shut it off. I really need to start making time for myself and I just don't do that now. I am going to start making real office hours and try to keep to them.

My website is coming along!! It looks great and should be ready to rock and roll soon. I am pretty excited about it.My old site is still tanked. Something just broke on it while my new webmistress was poking around and it is just going to stay that way till the new site is up. I am sorry but I don't know how to fix it. We took all of our holiday decorations down. What an undertaking. I hate taking ornaments off the tree, it is like a prickly sticky easter egg hunt. It is all done though!!

I am going to get some more printer ink today. I am making things for show season ahead of time this year to minimize stress. I am usually up to my eye balls in products the day before the show swearing at the printer. Not this year. Hopefully we will get the doors painted today as well. Next weekends task is finish the hallway or living room.

Oh yeah and tonight we are releasing a NEW purrsnicketys avatar in Second Life!!!! We are going to party down in Dwagonville home of one of the greatest tinies playgrounds ever! Today despite a little trip to the kitty vet (Rio is fine though he needs to be confined alone) I managed to get another painting done!! I felt awful leaving poor Rio alone in my studio and master bath so I stayed all day with him in my lap, chatted on the phone with my best pal and painted away. It was great and so was the end result!




I love doing this odd mixed media stuff. 14x19, mixed media on illustration board Chocolate Wyrm. This painting is an odd combo of watercolor,ink and oil paint. Who doesn't love a little chocolate? This little guy sure does. He makes it pretty hard to resist!! This is another one of my Sugar Wyrms. I am taking a wyrm break so I can do some book illustrations, there will be more some time.

Spearmint Wyrm

Finally!! I don't know why this one gave me so much trouble, maybe cause I needed it ASAP and I got it ALAP...damn you muse!! Stop hot tubbing and help me!! Original and prints are for sale.

My website it down, I think it is because my new webmistress is noodling around with the php and all. Thanks so much for all the emails, I know it is down. I should have a new website soon. I promise nothing until I know for sure when.

I have a new painting in the works. I have the background finished, I will start work on it today as soon as I get some business stuff done. This will be my last painting before I work on a book illustration or two. I think I am still on track with my painting schedule despite my delay with the cursed spearmint wyrm.

This weekend, weather permitting...I am painting doors!! WHeeeee...the life of a homeowner is so terribly glamorous I can hardly stand it. If you could see how crappy our house looked when we moved in you would understand. We still have SO much work and painting to do it isn't funny. Doors seem achievable in a weekend span. We have a million of them but if the weather is good we should be able to do at least the top floor.

Hi everyone,

My new year revolutions are on track so far! I have finished my first OZ book and have started the second. I thought it was pretty good. I have also worked out every day this week. I am working on that 8 glasses of water thing. How can anyone stand that??

This weekend it is time to take down all the holiday decorations. I am sad but also really want to get it over with. We also have a boat load of things to take to good will. I also want to paint our bathroom doors. They are the only thing in our bathroom with no new paint on it.

Johnnie and I are working on a special project with my art in it. It should be really great once it is finished. I am really wanting to finish this painting but it just isn't working for me. I feel really pressured because I wanted to send it out on a disk with my other images but I don't think it is going to happen. My muse picks the worst time to go on vacation I swear!

I am going through my stock of prints today and pulling all the retired ones. I will have them up for grabs at half price shortly. These will never be made again so don't hesitate if it is something you want. Same goes for bookmarks and art cards.

I got up kinda early for me today, got a lot done so far.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that all of my available figurines will be in stock again next week! I will have them signed and ready to go ASAP. I am not sure how many more I will be able to get a hold of so please keep that in mind. I have been working on a special project that should be ready soon, I am pretty happy with how it is turning out.

I have been working off and on with my new painting, I really want to finish it up ASAP because my whole sale company wants it. I had a really hard time sleeping last night because of my husband snoring so I slept really late today and it totally threw off my whole schedule.

My new website is being designed now so I should have a brand spanking new site soon!! I am really excited to see how it all turns out. I am hoping I get something I can really love and totally reflects me.

I have a background all worked out for my next painting so I will start on that as soon as the one I am working on is finished. Then onto book illustration. I think this will be a frantically paced year. I hope I am able to achieve all of the things I want to on my revolution list. I am adding to it all the time.

My husband who totally rocks has bought me a cool decal for our van!! I am so jazzed, we should have it next week! I will take unveiling photos when I get it put on.

I have been working on my new painting today. I should have it out by Monday, I also sketched out another painting and am starting the background for it today as well. After these two I really have to do an illustration for my book Z is for Zombie. I am determined to put that out this year and I am going to make it happen.

In other news I want to let everyone know there may not be too many more figurines from Music City Marketing. They are in breach of contract for several things and now my attorney is getting involved. I am going to try to buy up their inventory and then shop for another company. I am not happy about this but I am confident that I will be able to get another figurine maker soon. I also will have someone offering prints for whole sale, I will release info as things become available.

My website is getting an overhaul soon. I am working on my wish list today too. I also managed to get up early and work out a bit. Nothing over the top. I am really going to start pushing myself next week. I want to be in great shape for the fairy festivals this year. Who knows if I manage it I may have to get a skimpier fairy costume.

This is my latest Sugar Wyrm!! I can just smell the conversation hearts!! I was going to put a phrase on the big heart but thought it best to leave it to every ones imagination. The original is available as well as prints. It is a mixed media on illustration board. Items will be available on Cafe Press tomorrow.

I am currently working on another sugar wyrm. He is about 1/3 of the way painted so I should have it by the end of the weekend at the latest (If I get some freaking sleep!!!) I want to do 4 Sugar Wyrms total before I move on to something else. I have a sculpture I made and baked a while back I still need to paint and release and now I am dealing with some legal issues with a company so that is taking up some of my time...sigh. There really are days I want to quit this mess and sell off everything. I think every artist secretly plans their exit strategy at some point in their career.

Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonderful end to 2007! This year I am making a few professional changes to how I do business and my website.

Firstly for all of 2008 I am not taking commissions. I simply am unable to do it as I have a lot of personal and professional projects in the works. A lot of times commissions simply do not benefit me in the long run. They are usually too personal (or weird) for me to make prints of. I am sorry if this upsets any folks but I do have a book and a few things to do this year.

Also I am also reducing shipments to once a week. I no longer live right around the corner from the post office and in an effort to be greener I am conserving gasoline and trips. My shipment day will be Mondays from now on. I strive to be as green a company as I can, my prints are on recycled card stock, my bookmarks and ACEO's are made from recycled materials. I recycle pretty much everything I can business wise. I hope you all do too!!

I am currently working on a little valentines day piece for you with a dragon in it.It should be done in a few days if it cooperates with me. I already have the painting after that drawn and the background painted in so I will get to work on that right away as well. I hope to have a more productive pace this year. I am striving for a higher level of art and I will be discontinuing a LOT of images. The website will be re-imaged and I will not be renewing some licensing deals this year.

Enough business! Last night Johnnie and I went to my aunts house for her annual New Years Eve party! We had great food, good fun and a private fireworks show thanks to my Pop.
