Ash is officially broke.Payment from TWO originals and some matted prints was stopped by paypal because of the buyers end. They did this AFTER it had cleared into my bank account and AFTER everything was sent out. I may never see that money which pisses me off. It is the skint before the storm I like to call show season. The products have been purchased, show fees paid. My ink is running low but oh well, I am milking that thing for all it is worth.I like to have a little padding in the ole bank account but no pad this time...well maybe a 2 ply paper towel thickness of a pad but that is it. Fear not my husband would never let me starve. He is good like that. I had a conversation with a good friend which it was said I don't really HAVE to do any of this. She is right, I don't. I am lucky enough to have someone who makes enough that I could stay home and do nothing and not be in any sort of dire straight. BUT and it is a big one, being cut from the cloth more from a Jane Austen novel and less from a Cinderella story I like to make my own way. I also found out with further musing on my own yes I HAVE to do this. I love what I do and I wake up needing to do this and I go to sleep unable to sleep because I am wanting to do this. But I hate being broke LOL! I am just going to hunker down and paint and hope my season starts with a bang and not a whimper.

I woke up SO late today. I am sleeping more then a hibernating bear with this cold. I get easily tired and don't move much from the couch when I am awake. I might do another digital piece because my studio is chilly today and I don't wanna go in there I had a nice weekend (well nice enough for being sick) Johnnie finished painting the kitchen!! We got a frame for our Stars and Skulls print that is going in there. The trim and cabinets need to be done but that is it. It is like a teal kick to the groin in there (in a good way, if a kick to the groin could ever be good) and I love it. The accents will really make it and I will post pictures when it is all done. I blame Ursula Vernon and her treacherous Red Wombat tea labels for starting this. We got some amazing frames on sale so I will have some more at shows! We watched Enchanted and Lord of the Rings. I also got some Chinese food!! All in all a pretty good weekend.

Today I am going to paint in one form or another it is either that or surf the net, which leads to shopping online, which is NO fun with NO money. It is like being on a diet and going to an ice cream factory or poking out your eyes and going to an art show. I need to go eat something. I haven't been eating much lately cause I don't feel well enough to really want food.I will be adding more stuff to the site. I still have so much to add...

I got nervous after I posted my digital art thinking is wasn't very good but I saw it on products and started to feel better about it.

I also added prints to the website, added new cameos, buttons and new patted archival prints. I still have more cameos and buttons to add.

I spent the day watching Scooby Doo and sleeping. I missed my father in laws birthday celebration. Sorry!! Now I am drinking tea and wishing I was asleep. I may have to get the tablet out again and make something else. I like that I can veg out on the couch with it on my laptop. I don't feel like being in my studio at a desk feeling the way I do and at least this way I can make more art. This will also be good for when my back is acting up.

If anyone wants to share some digital painting tips I am all ears. I have had no formal digital painting training..well come to think of it I have had no formal painting training what so ever.

Due to some unwanted advances on Myspace I have decided to not have any sort of direct contact on there from this point on. I am not comfortable with the level of access people have to me on there. I do not feel like further elaborating on the situation, please don't ask.

However, my husband has been kind enough to make another fan page for me and my friends and fans because though he agrees with me, it is terribly unfair to everyone who was on there to genuinely appreciate my art and what I have to say. He also can cut through a swath of BS faster then anyone I know.

Getting up early this morning really paid off! I have finished my newest art piece. This is a unique little painting on wood! I got the wood plaque for Christmas and have been wanting to paint something on it ever since. This is my Stump Hollow Bunny! I imagined this little grove where critters lived in trees. I may have to do more Stump Hollow residents.


Modeled after my adorable bunny Cappy this piece is way more stunning in person.Johnnie got me roses the other day so I had to put one in there, it is my first painted flower. The wood has a little hanger on the back so you can just hang it on the wall. The dimensions are about 14 inches tall and 10 inches wide. I am not doing prints of her because I think it is just odd looking so she is it. I am not listing it on EBAY or messing with all of that, I want to take it to shows. My head says NO but my empty Hello Kitty wallet says YES! So I will be posting her on the site for a flat rate. I have another painting in the works right now and loads more planned.

One of the seven signs of the apocalypse...Ash Evans is up before noon! Repent sinners!!! I woke up feeling pretty good today. I didn't get much sleep because I was anxious to start the day. I work up around quarter to six, lifted some weights, watched the news, drank chai tea and watched the sun rise. I am still trying to blast Johnnie out of bed to go to work. We had a nice 75 degree day yesterday and now of course it is 30 degrees out. Maryland is awesome like that.

I hope this early start to the day puts me ahead of the game. I have more cameos to add to my site today as well as about a billion buttons. I worked a little on one of my paintings last night and I hope to have it done by the weekend. I have another one started so I will jump into that one next. I hope people like them. I hope I am able to crank out a lot of new art before my first show and continue to do so between shows. I have resolved to put myself out there more and become a more prolific painter if I am able. Lately I feel more like an art voyeur then an artist. I just keep watching people create and feel bad that I am not creating, well no more. I gotta put my head back down and not worry about what other folks are doing.

Anyway I am officially opening up my preorders for my resin fantasy figurines! They are set to ship out soon and will arrive in late May/early June. Quantities are limited. The figurines will be 16.00 each plus 8.00 shipping and handling. If ordering more then one please just add 2.00 per additional figurine. If you buy 2 or more I am adding a free print to the order, your choice. I will also sign each pre ordered figurine.

I prefer Paypal (ashley@phoenixxfirestudios.com) but will take a check if need be. PLEASE make sure you include which figurines you would like with your payment. Please also make sure your shipping address is correct (I have recently had problems with it)Once these sell out they sell out and we won't get another shipment in until late summer/early fall so please keep that in mind.
