The Shades and Beyond takes place an a parallel world with prehistoric creatures who have evolved over millions of years. Book one starts off following Griffin the Kajak, and his mission to destroy a peace-keeping organization known as the Kalos Council. He has a outstanding reputation for eliminating species from the planet without qualm. Naturally, this task should be a breeze for a warrior like himself.... right? Wrong, its proving to be quite the challenge once he is brutally reminded of his past, thanks to Jeggar. Now for the first time ever, Griffin hesitates. This hesitation unfolds the future of their world.
