I know that I asked a question similar to this but:

What of one-shot, one-page comics. Would they stay in the general gallery? Or do they need to go into this new section too?

That depends. If you have a collection of similar one shot comics, it would be best if you posted them in the Comics section. EvilBunnySlippers has a series of one shot comics about her animals. Here's a link as an example:
http://www.paperdemon.com/comic/about/8.html

However, if its just a one image one shot, then you can just post it to the regular Art Gallery.

There's nothing related to it like what EvilBunnySlippers is doing and if by one image you mean one panel it's not that either.

I'll do the best thing that I can think of and show you what it is --> http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41675048/

I am sorry about all this ^^;

What i mean is if its one image file, then its ok if its posted in the Art gallery. This image has multiple panels in it but its one image file so its ok if its posted in the art gallery. However, it might be better if you post it in the comics section though because it will probably get more hits. It's up to you [emoticon]

Might I say that site design is fucking sweet.

Man browsing through that site I like a lot of the ideas in there. Like the icons for galleries. That's cool. I need to come up with something like that.

I also like how it shows the recent comments.

I know what you mean about angry parents. So far I've only gotten one angy parent and that was for Zarbon's Masterpiece Theater. I hadn't put up parental controls on it yet so I told her I'd put them up.

I'm kind of surprised I haven't gotten any angry parents contacting me about the Red Curtain.

I totally missed this...
the gallery folder icons are whatever is newest in the folder.
Lightbox V2 http://drupal.org/project/lightbox2
installed with the image gallery module: http://drupal.org/project/image

All plugins for Drupal because I R TEH STOOPEED
and can only do the most basic of coding.

Like my theme is a plugin too. META THEME
I just changed the masthead graphics.

^_^

I cannot take credit really all open source stuff, addons and plugins.

Drupal? So you do know about it? My brother suggested I made my website with that coding- my brother isn't stupid. If he suggests something, I know it must be good at least [emoticon]

I LOVE the new comic section!!!*___*
The way you can upload new pages is just great and very easy to handle!

Just one wish: Is it possible to add more genres? e.g. Mystery, Thriller, Magical Girl, Drama etc.
It also would be very great if the comic-works can be classified in two groups: MANGA or COMIC, so that the users find faster their desired comic-style.

If you need more genres/galleries, just put in a request for them when you are submitting your comic. You should see a box on the right for requesting new sections. Those are all good genre suggestions.

Although I don't really see how distinguishing from manga or comic would be helpful because manga is really just japanese comics. And a lot of American comics are influenced by Japanese comics these days. I don't think people searching through the comics would care whether something is Japanese style or American style.

This is SWEET!  I've been drawing comics for years, and had NEVER found a place that I really thought would do them justice.  (Well, DA or SheezyART might, but I dunno about the others that I'm a member of!)  And now I've found that one of my fave new art sites has a section devoted ENTIRELY to comics!!!  YES!!!  You have made my entire MILLENIUM, NOT just my day! *pounces/glomps/huggles whichever genius at PD that thought of this, and then did it*

Anyway, ONCE I get my comp totally fixed, and back online, I plan on uploading a few of them here.  ONE of them is one that I started WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY the heck back in the day, and is a comic adaptation of a fic that I started back in the day, as well, and that I laughingly call my "Dukes of Hazzard Goes Fantasy" fic.  The OTHER one (that I'm CURRENTLY working on; the other one has been on the back-burner for awhile now, due to my reborn obsession with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003-200  version) AND the new Biker Mice From Mars (the comic features the 1993 version, however) is a comic adaptation of my Biker Mice/Ninja Turtles crossover fanfic.  I hope you all like my comics once I start uploading them.

Heh, I'm STILL walking on Cloud 9 over this news!

Well, the idea of the comic section is good... for long, more than two pages comics. For comics of one or two, it´s a little complicated all that arc stuff. You must have noticed that are little comics still posted as fan arts because of this, I don´t think this is fair. Why not creating a subsection for the little ones?

Besides, there´s also the famous cover issue we discussed in e-mails. I still think the use of a cover should be optional, so I repeated the first page of my own comic in protest. I started my douj even before knowing about paperdemon or the comic section being created... I loved when I learned about this new section, but I was sincerely disapointed when I learned about this obligation. The reason about the gallery look better with covers... well, seeing the aspect of some covers presented there [emoticon] , I think it would be better if they had the first pages appearing, instead. And it´s up to the author, if his/her thumbnail will look better or not in the gallery.

Finally, I noticed that we can´t fave the comics, like we do to fan arts and fanfiction. Why not? And perhaps would be interesting to have something warning when our fave comic is updated (I´m following Got Gauss, and I had to send a message for the author asking she/he to let me know about the updatings)

Silver lady- The idea with comic 'cover's is the same reason that Paperdemon wont allowe pictures that haven't been presented properly. It's a presentation thing. IF you buy a comic off he shelf, you don't want to look at the first page of the comic- right? It's beter to have a pretty picture that tells you what the comic is. It also is alot clearer as a thumbnail- comic pages tend to be too undetailed to see what's happening. As Bogus Red says- Use a nice panel as the cover, or design one from scratch. Think of it as a professional comic. Even if it's not high enough quality to sell, you need to sell it to the audiance- right?

Actually- This is Susie's website, so it's ultimatly up to her what is classified as good enough. As her. I believe she specified that it must have a cover. She may modify the comic section slightly if you have a way of presenting it that is ok with her. Do remember that it's a priveledge to post our art here [emoticon] Bogus Red is just really cool to put up special sections. Things can be improved if people want it.

Is there anyone else out there that is against covers? Or pro to covers with an argument diferent to mine?

EDIT- I threw together a cover for you to use if it's a problem of not being able to make a cover. If you don't want to use it and have your first page as the cover, then you need to discuss that with BR. Till then, it's only simple, but its beter than nothing, right? [emoticon] Hope it helps ^^

Look, I apprecciated your effort, but you really shouldn´t have wasted your time. I don´t deserve that. I could have made a cover if I wanted...I´m not lazy and I´m perfectly able to...  it´s easy... but I started my comic before Paperdemon start the comic section, without any covers, and I JUST DON´T WANT TO ALTERATE MY JOB!!!!  [emoticon]   Is it that clear now?

THis collage of yours have absolutely nothing to do with my work... I´m dead sick of seeing this stupid Goku angel wherever I go. Sorry if I am being rude, all I wanted was just some freeedom... but it doesn´t work, my arguments fall over deaf ears. It´s a pity, but I´ll have to wipe my comic away.  To not be understood is bad enough, but have people insisting and tossing godamn covers on my face, even if for kindness. [emoticon]   Just give your collage to another .

I love paperdemon site... [emoticon] but an artist must do her/his work at the way he/she believes. Yes, Susan has her rights, and every site has its rules... but a site created for the artists supposed to respect their freedom to create.

Good bye.

SilverLady, these are the exact same reasons I explained to you through email. Arkillian, I put together a quick cover for her too. It was just a selected panel from her comic.

Silver Lady, as you know, I originally agreed to change the comics section to allow shorter comics (3 pages or less) to post without a cover. It seems like other people support my cover requirement though. I also think you are being rude with your response. It's like you are saying "I don't have time to make a cover. And any cover anyone else makes would not do my comic justice."

So because of that, I have changed my mind. I will not alter the comics section to allow short comics to bypass the cover requirement. I stand by my original requirements for the comics section. It is not a lot to ask that people submit a cover. It doesn't even need to be something fancy. Just a selected panel will do. A whole page of a comic doesn't work because it doesn't reproduce well at a small thumbnail size.

The reason there is not a favorites feature is because I simply haven't programmed it in yet. If you read the earlier parts of this thread you'll find someone else requested it too. It's not a priority at the moment. I will get to it eventually.

As far as I can tell, no website out there on the Internet has a community based web comic system (if there is one, please let me know >.< smiley . And even if we aren't the first to do it, ours is certainly the BEST!

I beg to differ! My website (will share link if requested) has been around since January '06 and a large portion of it has been dedicated to comics the entire time. Though it may or may not be as good as the comics section on here, it is still another comic thing... Also, there are probably others out there, too. Like DeviantArt allows people to upload comics.

Just thought I'd share that.

Edit:
I realize now that this website allows people to upload comics as a... comic-book-esque type thing. Mine was designed for single-page comics, organized into several distinct user-created series, which would be like a comic book, should comic books have thumbnails and such. but whatever...
