I found this game online about a week ago. It is called Flyff. It is a FREE (no purchase price or subscription fees) MMORPG, or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, very similar to World of Warcraft, Runescape, Star Wars Galaxies, and Everquest. It was made by a company in Korea (which sometimes end up in really funny mistranslations). It is one of the funnest games I have ever played.

You start out in Flyff as a Vagrant Class, which is just to show you the basics of the game. Once you get to be level 15, you can pick between the four job classes. Then, once you get to level 60, you get to pick between two more job classes, depending on your first choice.

Once you get to level 20, though, this is when the game truly gets fun. You can buy brooms, hoverboards, hoverbikes, whatever, and it allows you to fly. This is the game's "claim to fame" so to speak. Also, when you get to level 20, you can start your own Guild.

I go by the name Shykaar in-game. If you do decide to check it out, I'm usually  on the Glyphon server on 5-4. Look me up if you decide to join. If enough people join, I may start a guild named,  you guessed it,  PaperDemon. (with BR's permission of course)

If you want to join, e-mail me at shalashaska9mm@yahoo.com, and we can all play together. I have found that video games can start the greatest relationships between people. (Ask JIAM about Deer Hunter 2 sometime.)

You can play with any internet connection, although a broadband connection is recommended. Even though there can be up to 30-40 people on screen (during the busy hours), I have had absolutely NO lag thus far. I do have decent DSL though.

Oh yeah, the installation file is about 586 mbs, so on a 56k dialup, that could take a long time, possibly a week.

I remember playing this. I tried it out for a while but my computer sucks and it lagged like crazy, when I get my new one, it should work much better though ^^

Flyff is really cute and fun. I love it. But have you heard of Rappelz? It's made by the same group and is very similar, but it's much more serious and the graphics are amazingly realistic. It's also totally free and I prefer it to Flyff. :3

I agree, Rappelz is much better, even though you run into a bit of lag in towns with a lot of people.

Fly For Fun (Flyff) I found to be a bit too childish and far to slow of a game, I'm sure it gets more fun as you progress but progressing takes far too long in Flyff, I played for a few months before I reached the next class only to find that things didn't change much besides the fact that I had a new class name.

With Rappelz I played for a few hours and was off with my little Gaia Rogue and her bow, killing monsters fairly easily with plenty of quests to go on, and a few days later I was already a fighter, with a better bow. Now I'm lvl26 working my way towards being a decent and desirable asset to Dungeon Parties. =p

There's also SilkRoad Online which is also free and EXTREMELY well done graphics-wise, with excellent gameplay (though getting on the game can sometimes be a pain).

Of course my favorite game to play is Ragnarok Online, I play on a free Private Server. ;D That game is the best I think.

I tried to get on RO ,but it never worked. I donno how to find I free sever.

Play say FlyFF is ok, but I like Maple Story. Yes, I know, I might be the most childish thing you're ever seen ,but I like to socialize AND fight, and it's easy on MS.

Getting on private servers can be a pain depending on your level of computer skill. If you're really interested in getting on one PM me sometime and I can help you out =D

Maybe this is the wrong topic, but how do I play an MMORPG? I've always wanted to try playing one, but I'm a bit timid when it comes to setting the whole thing up.  How does it work? ^^'

Hmm....how to play an MMORPG. Well it may take a while to download the whole game, depending on how slow your computer is, but once you get it set up it's pretty cool ^_^ you usually always have something to do and you can even make good friends. The only bad thing I know of is people who swear a lot and people who hit on you if you're a girl. If you are one, maybe make your character look like a guy, but that's just my opinion ^^ I've only seen a few guys who hit on everyone like crazy, so you should still have fun [emoticon]

Thanks a lot for that! Sounds like fun... I know my brother is addicted to that stuff, but he never seems to have time to explain to me how to play it... lol.

Hehe.. maybe I will make my character look like a guy.. sounds like fun. [emoticon] I'll email Shalashaska when I make an account.

I have DSL btw and soon I'll have cable, so I don't anticipate too much of a problem. ^_^

I'm a guy and I always play girls on Online games, people are nicer to you and tend to give you more free stuff ;D. It's also fun when they hit on me (I dunno, maybe I'm just evil like that).

I also have fun toying with the guys that ask me if I'm really a girl, I don't say I'm a girl but I don't say I'm not either, it's hilarious to watch them go with gut instinct (Most times they think I'm really a girl =p).

Plus in PvP situations it's always humiliating to be beaten by a little, cute/innocent looking character (I always make my characters look cute and little, usually ranged/archer class too =p). In RO I'm a Priestess, which makes it even more humiliating since it's a support class and not a fighting class XD

But yeah, once you get them set up they're a blast to play, having other, real people to talk to and compete with is far more entertaining than most offline games where your main competition is (normally pretty crapily) programmed AI.

Has anybody played Dofus?? It's a cool game. I wanna play Ragnarok Online though, i like how the characters look. There's also Gunbound, it's kind of a calculating game with mini vehicles. Kinda like Worms, but still different.

I've played both Rappelz and Flyff, and I'm enjoying Rappelz much more just because you can level faster.

...also, yay for video games that provide male as well as female eye candy. [emoticon]
