Optimizing

Howdy PaperDemon members I just wanted to let you all know that I've been working on trying to find ways to speed up the site. Because of the recent traffic boost I've noticed that the site seems slower than usual. I've already taken a few steps to make the site run faster. I will continue to work on optimizing the site within the next few weeks.

The chat room is once again working. My guess is that it stopped working due to the server load. The recent optimization changes have made the chat room start working again so I hope you'll check it out.

Also, I want to take this moment to say that the recent traffic boost has resulted in a lot more requests for new galleries and libraries lately. I have so many of them that it will take me a while to get through them. Thank you for your patience. Our moderators have also been very busy approving and processing all of the new artwork and writing submissions. Please thank them all for their hard work in helping to keep our site clean!

YAY! It's driven me nuts how slow it was- I thought it was just New Zealand's crappy internet service ^^ (although I think some of it still is...) and there's alot of people that will be happy that the chat room is up again! Great work hon ^^

Thanks for being active about issues like this.    I only barely noticed the slowness, because I'm used to sites with major issues in that area... But again, thanks for being proactive!

That's good that we aren't the slowest site out there. I hope we don't get a HUGE jump in traffic. As long as our traffic goes up somewhat gradually we should be able to adapt.

Ok, I had to laugh after reading this because PD has been nothing but FAST for me lol. After living with dA for a longgggggggggg time, this site is a breath of fresh air.

Kudos though for those running PD who see problems and work to fix them and acknowledge such without the wailing and gnashing of teeth that I was used to seeing lol.

I do remember many times in the past when DA was really lagging. But ours is lagging with far less traffic. I'm working on it though.
