Hey there

I find that I'm in need of a beta for my story Mindhunter. It really needs to be betaread and I think it will help me a lot to improve the story.

Is anyone up for the job? I'd be really grateful.

Sorry, but I'm not that equipped with technical terms: what's a beta?

A beta is someone who reads another's story, points out the grammatical and spelling errors and possibly any errors storywise.

Happens everywhere but I first came across the term in my translator school, where someone else checks the translator's works.

Oh! I'm sorry, I should have been more specific when i said I was 'trundling off to read your stuff'.

By that, I actually meant I'm doing just what you asked people to do there [emoticon]
Lucky. I'm almost done scrutinising your first chapter and i'll probably send it to you tomorrow arvo (I'm almost as picky with my reviews as I am submitting my stuff: i hate to do it unless i think it's perfect [emoticon] )

I'll be as nice as I can about it, but don't feel offended if I'm abit blunt. Blame the inner teacher they're bringing out of me in this school course hah.

Thanks so much. It's really necessary. I'm already trying to go over my stuff and see what I can find myself. Plus the more I read through it the more I see that could be added storywise.

I'll look forward to reading what you have to say about it then. I want the story to get so much better. It's a promise I made to my dad after he died.

Oh, inner teacher is ok. I haven't had English classes since I had to quit my translator school and my English has lost some of its touch since then.

If you both do it, it would be even better. I mean, different people see different things, you know. I know I beta read for a French friend of mine together with another friend of mine.

You'd have a friend and fan for life, lol.

I could only check it for story pace, quality, character etc... I think I'd be good with that, but definetly not grammer. I need a beta for grammar alone. I'm getting better, but my poor english is still a shocker XD

It was a great help!  And take your time, I'm in no rush at all, but don't mind me if I keep on writing, hehe. I've got 24 chapters so far.
