I have a friend, who on on Friday, got really annouyed at me cause I said I was going to cosplay as a Phoenix Wright character that she hadn't played the game to. I didn't tell her ANYTHING about the character except his looks and that he loves coffee. She got REALLY angery at me
Am I all alone when I say that I don't care about spoilers? That they actually make me WANT to read a story more? Or is everyone like my friend and not want to know about anything in the story before they experiance it?
Thoughts?

I think 'spoilers' of the kind that might be seen in a trailer, preview, or review type of context are unavoidable. If it was rude to talk about that level of stuff in front of people who hadn't seen or played something, we'd kill an awful lot of discussions.

I agree. There's a certain level of spoiler you can give before its telling the story. If you breifly describe something then that to me is no biggie. Eve nif its a "Oh, blah gets killed" To me, if it's worth bragging about, it's worth reading
I read storys multiple times. Spoilers essentially don't effect me in that way...

eh, spoilers are going to happen anyway. I usually bug my friends during movies with questions about what is going to happen. they think its funny to lie about the outcomes of situations in the plotlines so I end up getting blindsided. >P I don't care for that tactic too much.....
Point being this: she has no right to be angry. spoilers happen, and they come at any time or place. she's lucky you're not lieing to her on purpose. *mutters*

Depends on my feelings towards the movie/book/anime the person spoiled. If I want to go in knowing NOTHING about a story say so. I'm usually content with trailers... But going in to a new game or movie with little or no knowledge of the outcomes is part of my experience. I want to 'Oooo' and 'Aaaah' as things happen not just expect them. What's the point?
I always ask before reveailing something about a game/movie to someone who hasn't seen or played it. I don't want to responsible for ruing someone elses experience because I wouldnt want mine ruined.
My sister reads Harry Potter and I DO NOT want to know an iota of what's she has read since I want to watch the movies first then read the books. She respects that and we gush after I see the each movie. No harm no foul.

Nope, not in the least. The only thing that could deter me from playing a game or watching a movie it someone reiterating all of the dialog and actions. Which, if you've ever treid to do, you'd know is quite hard - and takes a lot of plays.
I've ruined the storyline for pretty much everything at some point - I know who dies in the last HP book/movie, is that going to stop me from watching/reading it? Nope.
I can tell you most of the storyline for Resident evil and the zombies, but I've never played it.
I generally do things in a completely weird way though
