Beef with the Forum Subscription Thing

Okay, don't get me wrong, I like being able to subscribe to whatever forums I like and want to keep track of, but it's really hard to keep track of new forums that roll around. People don't check the forums page, it would seem.  I certainly don't.

So how about this? The forum subscription thing stays, and in the Members Area, the like, three most recently posted forums could appear toward the bottom of the page in their own little section.

OR

Or, we could get the option to subscribe to a whole forum. For example, if somebody was always lurking around the Suggestion Box (like me. -.-; ), they could subscribe to the entire forum, instead of just a handful of the threads. But they could also subscribe to the scant few threads in like, the General Discussion forum that they post regularly to, also.

Make sense? Any thoughts?

I like the idea of subcribing to a forum.  I'd like to follow  Writing and Art....  Hmm, nifty idea.

Err... I guess you guys didn't see the button for it because you can subscribe to a whole forum. Just visit the forum by clicking on the forum title from the Forum index (IE suggestion box), then click the "Subscribe to Suggestion Box" button at the bottom. sorry that its so hard to find. the intention was not for everyone to subscribe to every single thread. the primary purpose of the subscription feature was to be able to subscribe to whole forums.

i will increase the visibility of this button.

I've moved the button to be next to all of the other buttons and made them all match in look and feel. though the buttons are not very heavy. I may redesign them. But this should do for now.

Well, most people aren't interested in every forum. I don't want people subscribing to forums they don't care about because it causes unnecessary load on the database. You aren't the first to suggest it.

Hey! I know this is getting a little off-topic, but can you subscribe to comics? o.o Just out of curiosity. I couldn't find a button, so I thought I'd ask.

Hi Dollmaker. Subscription to Comics, Writing, and Galleries is still in the works. It's not yet available but I'm working on it.

k, then. have it your way per usual. if your not gonna make a subscribe to all topics button, then how about a drop down window with checkboxs that you can just click and it autmatically adds it to your subscription rather than goin to the forum and going to the bottom....
