Cosplay sites

Hello Cosplayers.

I just signed up on Cosplay.com and posted my photos of my Link costume there and I have to say I was pretty tunred off by the experience. The site is really hard to navigate whether you are navigating someone elses profile or trying to post to your own. It's also weird with how it handles images. It asks you to upload a 200x200 pixel icon for your costume and then it ends up chopping it on the top and bottom when its listed in the Costumes section, meaning a lot of peoples heads are being cut off. That and the general layout of the site is just horrid. It also seems to be lacking in some key features.

However, what I do like is that you can list your conventions that you are attending, group your photos by costume, and post details about your costume. It's not just a general photo posting mechanism. It has cosplay specific logic to it.

What I'd like to ask you all is are there other similar sites out there specifically for cosplayers? If so, what are they and what are your opinions of those sites? Also, are any of you interested in having a similar type of thing here at PD (but done much better of course)?

What- a photo section? Or specifically a cosplay one?

I think allow a phot section ,and a sub-section for cosplay would be good. Just allowing oosplay would seem like singaling out.

Didn't we used to have a cosplay gallery?

We can't have. Otherwise we'd have photos all through the gallery which we don't. It was all a personal thing till now.

I was intending a completely separate system (like how comics is separate from art). But doesn't seem like there's much interest for it here anyway.

But here's what my line of thinking was. I saw cosplay.com and I like the ideas behind how they setup their site specifically for cosplay. But I felt the execution was really poor. So I was having a personal reaction to that wanting to create something better. But if I were to do it, I think the best thing would be if it was a separate site. But nevermind.

nah, its really cool. I love looking at cosplay, just not doing it. and I was speaking from the perspective of someone who isn't as gung-ho over it so that all the cards are in the stack. Maybe you can create a sublet to the PD site for the cosplay thing. I just don't support the idea for the photo gallery just for cosplay. if we make a photos gallery, it should be for art just like the rest of the site.

that could be the quickest obsession I've ever seen. thank you BR for the best laugh I've had all weekend. seriously, that was some abrupt, albeit hilarious, descision making.
