Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Drawing Day! I hope to see you all and even more participants next year!

You can see all of the Drawing Day submissions in our Drawing Day gallery.

We had 21 submissions. I was hoping for a bigger turn out but I would still consider this a success. In the past when we've hosted events or contests we've had much lower turn out.

So what are your thoughts about drawing day? Did you like this event? Would you like PaperDemon to participate in similar events in the future? What would you have liked to see us do better/differently? And if you didn't participate, why? Please post your comments on this forum thread.

Thanks for your feedback!

You know I almost completely forgot about drawing day. Lucky for me a friend I told about it reminded me. I don't think I was the only one that forgot. I think the turn out would be higher if we had a count down to Drawing day or the end of a contest. Or if possible an Email reminder.

But i love the idea. And would love more days like this. Perhaps you can have Simular events. Days that are non-contest but where you have theme submissions. Like a DBZ Submission day. Or Maybe a Batman & Joker Theme day tied into the Release of the movie. I think the more often we have these the more people Participate.

I think anything that incourages artistic growth is a good thing.  I have been in a big art slump, and drawing day got me to do something, not very much, but something.  So thanks for jump starting me again.  If it is not too much trouble maybe we can have periodic events like this, either themed or something else.  Thanks again. I would've submitted more, but then I had to leave for therapy. xD

I loved the event! I would definitely love PaperDemon to participate again next year! [emoticon] And I'd also love for the site to participate with other drawing events. Maybe a few related to writing. *Cough* [>.>]

As another member has said, an E-mail reminder would've been nifty to let people know. A sort of counter on-site would be cool, too. [owo]

Can we still submit to the Drawing Day gallery? I didn't have access to a scanner all weekend... Not that I drew much, but still. :/

I do love the idea though, and like WildeKarde said, theme days would be a neat initiative. Maybe even some where a single word/sentence/paragraph is given, and people draw what comes to mind when they think of it.

Thank you everyone for your feedback! If you have any more ideas for events, please let me know. I like the idea of having a themed gallery type thing. Perhaps we could do something where the first week of every month we have a theme and everyone could post drawings based on that theme. We could do something similar where we have a gallery set up for the theme submissions. Does anyone have ideas for our first theme?

If you still have Drawing Day submissions to post...

you can still submit them by adding them to the Drawing Day group gallery. First, add yourself to the PD Events group:

http://www.paperdemon.com/group/PD_Events.html

Then after you've submitted your artwork, click on [group galleries] on the manage my artwork page. Choose the PD Events group, then click the checkbox next to Drawing Day 2008 and hit submit.

I thought it was a fun event [emoticon] Not only did it incorporate PD but it incorporated a lot of other art sites too and it motivated people to draw. We should definitely do it again next year.

As for a theme hmm...we could do a PD themed week where you draw a depiction of a Paper demon [emoticon] I think that would be pretty neat [emoticon]

21? That's not bad. But what about overall? Did Drawing Day get one million pictures?
