deviantArt v6

Hello everyone. DeviantArt just launched v6 of their site. Though most of it looks the same, the biggest changes are in the messaging system and browsing art system. I was wondering what your thoughts are on it. What you like, what you don't like, and if there's anything you think PaperDemon can learn from it.

I'm excited mostly about the new message center. I'd like to revamp the members portal to be more customizable and have more content. For the past several days I've been working on rewriting the code for the comments system. I'd like to make it all ajaxy.

Over all, I like it myself, but there are a few things I would like to change.  I don't like the way the people on my dev watch are now showing new work.  Even though I chose the sort by artist feature, it does not group older works and newer works by the same artist together.  I also miss the option of seeing the parent comment, since my mind is getting older, and I fequently forget what I wrote or what people are responding to.  That feature really comes in handy for forum responses.  I will probably find some more little bugs as I use it more, but those are the ones I noticed for now.

I am definitely liking the new message center. I'm working on clearing out my backlog now.

We have a few areas that use AJAX. Particularly the Chatbox, chatroom, and adding/removing from favorites. But we could definitely use it in a lot more places. I plan to make all the subscription notices be ajax so you can just click a X and poof it will be removed from your members portal.

I can acess 'parent' comment in v6.... But I think the command is under a different name.  o_O  ... I think.

I like the new page deign when I'm looking at comments/art and journals.  I haven't encountered any snags myself.

I like it.

After hunting around, I did find the parent option, but I still have problems with messages reappearing after I delete them all the time.  It is most annoying.
