This is true. Barbie's waist is un-natrally too thin. She'd have to be 8foot for her spine to support itsself.
True, she got dimensions to make a Victorian era women jealous. And what pisses me off the most is not that Barbie's got C-breasts or waspish waist but the fact that she has no butt to speak off. I suppose it's easier for the makers with the legs joints and such if she doesn't have an actual ass to speak of but still ...
And feminists that believe Barbie is a poor role model for younger girls is all hype in my opinion. Barbie is just a doll with impossible dimensions -- what enforces the "You MUST be Thin" attitude is the models/celebrities and the clothing companies, and there's even pressure from doctors and health officials warning agianst being fat and how you have to be "healthy." I think that's excessive, because people use that as an excuse to get spaghetti noodle thin.
In other words, it's not just Barbie but our whole Western culture. Like for example, there was a gorgeous full figuired model in a magazine while waiting for my hair to be done and they labeled her as "Plus-size" and I'm think, you're nutz right? How the hell is she plus sized? She's not fat at all!
I blame Western culture.
