After discovering Susie's links ( [emoticon] )to an academic discount software place (was that a mouthful or what?), I'm in the market for a good video editing program. I currently use Windows Movie Maker for my music videos, and have experimented with Adobe, and found it to be a little too complicated for what I need. So, anyone know of any? The help would be very much appreciated! [emoticon]

Video editing can be pretty hard at first. I played around with a trial version of Adobe Premiere and found it to be hard too but i decided to buy the Adobe Video Collection anyway. It was really cheep at my school. I think i got it for like 200 or 300 dollars (regular price is $1000). I was surprised to find that it came with a video workshop and there is just enough in there to get a person started in all of the programs. it was super easy after i was able to watch someone else use the program and teach me how to use it. So before you rule out Adobe, ask those sites if their educational version of Adobe Premiere comes with a similar training cd.

I don't have any experience with other video editing software but I've heard that Vegas is easy to learn.

You also might want to try Adobe Premiere Elements. it's only $70 on creationengine.com and it's probably easier to use since its a sort of bare-bones program.

I got Adobe Premiere from my uncle a while ago, but have since uninstalled it because there was so much to it. It didn't come with any manuals or anything, so I went in pretty blind. I'll have to check it out again because it'll be quite the tool, especially not having paid for it myeslf (shhhh [emoticon] ).
I've never heard of Vegas before, so I'm definitely going to have to check that out. I've been making music videos for about five years now, and know how much of a hastle they can be to make...Grog...I'd post them here but they're BEASTS when it comes to size.
Thanks, and I'm off to check out Vegas! [emoticon]
