Has anyone ever heard of the Joe Kubert School of cartoon and graphic Art?? Well that's the college I want to go to but sadly though It's in New Jersey and I'm in Nevada...way far away and my mom says I can go to school anywhere I want...in Nevada but nowhere else. So Not fair! But I'm not good enough artist to go there anyway. Just wondering if you guys have heard of it.

there are a few other good schools for animation. the best one I think of course is SJSU because I go there lol. but really it is a great program. there are a few other good animation schools in California too that I know about because they are also part of the Acme program:
Laguna College of Art and Design (private school)
Carver something. sorry i don't remember this one
then there is Santa Anna. This one I don't know much about because it's new.

Anyway yeah SJSU is really good but don't go there unless you realy love animation because it's a really tough school.

That sounds great! But I'm really discouraged by California...I dunno what it is. I was thinking something more up north...or rather anywhere far away from Nevada [emoticon] I dunno maybe I'll check out some of those Cali. schools anyway or maybe I'll just give in a go to a University like everyone is telling me to. Oh well I have a whole other year to figure it out.

lol, if you don't like California, then you shouldn't be an animator. Most of the animation jobs are in California, particularly in the LA area.

EDIT: actually you probably should just go to a state university in Nevada. Out of state tuition is really high at SJSU. you can always participate in the ACME website no matter what school you are at actually. You just wont be able to participate in the telecasts

wow... you actually go to an art school. I just go to a 2 year college right now. I wanted to go to an art school but the one I wanted told me I had to be 16. I can pass every test they hit me with but my age it what's holding me down. [emoticon]

In any case, I know the place. That, The PA Academy of Fine Arts, and the MOORE college of art ALL told me to come back in 2 years after they tested me to death and realized that they couldn''t call me stupid and to not come back at all. [emoticon]

I wish you luck with it though! [emoticon] [emoticon] [emoticon]

Yeah, the thing is though I really don't want to go to a university cause I haven't been drawing since I was 10 to just push it aside so if that means I have to go to California then I will. The main reason though I don't want to go to California is because there's no snow [emoticon] it's a sorry reason I know but I've only seen snow like twice and I miss it. And I haven't yet decided if I want to be an animator yet or an artist for a graphic novel so I dunno.

themusicdied, you go to a 2 year college?? And you're only 14 right?? I say WOW! to that.

There's snow in California. You'll have to go to the Sierras though. A lot of people in my area go skiing in the winter so it's not like you'll never see snow.

Yeah most of the schools and most of the jobs are here.

Yeah, I'm 14. I'll be 15 in May. ^_^ But, trust me, I've put aside my life to get here. I'm at my dest 8-10 hours a day doing school. No weekend off or summer or winter breaks. I do school every day of the year.

Snow.... I hate snow anymore. Where I live we get too much snow for me. As of right now my world looks like a white, frozen hell. There's snow 3 ft. deep everywhere. gurrr....

She does the best Line work I've ever seen. ask her about it, she's a graduate I believe.

Fablespinner, Your friend went to the Joe Kubert School?? Sweet! My brother also knows someone who went there and he said that he's one of the best artists he has seen at his school.

MoonDemon, Yes I have some knowlegde of that school. My sister actually ordered me a catalog on it and also got a an application a few months ago. But I've looked through the catalog and I'm way out matched at the school and not even close to ready to go there, so lately I've been considering a school that's more along my lines.

Yup, I've known Bee for dogs years. We run a studio together and ran an online artist peer-2-peer Tutorial ML from 2001-2003 (Before Yahoo!groups just went all to hell and we got tired of their service)

She's a fabulous lady and she raves about her school.
