Question about IY

Okay, so I have another Inuyasha related question. Do you all remember the episode where Kagome and Inuyasha first meet Miroku? He had a jewel shard in his arm to slow down the progress of the wind tunnel. What happened to it? Are we to assume that he gave it up or did I miss something?
I've always wondered about that...Thanks!

I believe they left it in there. He was going to go with them so I think they left left it there 'till they get Naraku then everyone gets what they want. Miroku gets to live and Kagome and InYasha have their jewl. ^_^

I think you're right. I also think that the animators and perhaps even Rumiko Takahashi (although I forget if she had Miroku carry a jewel shard in the manga or not) may have forgotten about it. The demons they encounter always go after Kagome, because she is the keeper of the shards and never go after Miroku. Maybe it's just because she has more of them...?
Then in the recent anime, we find that there is only 1 shard left (exculuding the 2 Kouga has) and Kagome has none of them because they were stolen by the band of 7. I honestly think they forgot that Miroku had one, or maybe we are to assume that he gave it to Kagome at some point? I have no idea, it's always sort of bugged me.

I went through and read the manga translation from where they meet miroku untill sango betrays them and they did faze out Miroku's 3 shards

So did Miroku have a shard in the manga or was that added in the anime? I'm too lazy to look it up myself.
