Brain Teaser, LOL

Well I was on the phone with a very old friend last night who reminded me of this question that I never told her the answer to, LOL. Honestly I had totally forgot all about it period I used to hunt these down and drive my friends insane because I would never tell them the answer unless they guessed correctly Any who here is the Brain Teaser (Its rather old so some of you guys may already know it)

You were in a room with no doors and only one very high window. There is a rope hanging from the ceiling that cannot be reached from the floor and there is a puddle on the floor. How did you get out of the room??

Oh my gosh... great. Just great... Now I am going to be driving myself crazy until I think of how in the heck I got out of that room. I suppose the answer is not that I hung myself with the rope right? Let's see....think think think... <--- Heheh I just sounded like Winnie the Pooh there huh? Okay.. wasting time. back to the teaser...
Hmm.... well I have absolutely no idea Moon Demon. But I suppose the puddle is probably caused from me peeing my pants or something because I can't figure this dang thing out. And now I am probably going to lose sleep over it. >_< Damn my eyes for reading this....

if theres no door, how did i get in the room in the first place? Hum...i entered by the window and when i saw there was no door, i left by the same window...

Or i use everything thats in the room and manage to get the rope...

Im sure the answer is really obvious...argh...I have to know!!!!!!!

OK, the puddle, means theres water...i open the tap and fill the room...i wait until i can reach the rope?!

GWAAAAAGH!!!! FUDGER-NUTTERS!!! this is going to annoy the crap out of me...alright, i have two more guesses! one! you woke up? lol, i know that has nothing to do with the rope, the window, and the water, but it's possible. maybe you were dreaming and got pissed off at being stuck in there that you just plainly woke up and puff! you're out...? heh...or not...

TWO!!! alright, water used to be a block of ice that you were able to climb up on and reach the rope, then you climbed up to the window and smashed through then fell three stories till you go splat on the ground below!

Oh!  Oh!  I know!  I know!!  Pick me!  Pick me!

There was a block of ice that you used to reach the rope and climb up it to get through the window.  Then the ice melted and that's what the puddle was.  Am I right?

If I am, I admit I cheated because I heard a similar one.  It was more gruesome and went something like this:

A man commited suicide by hanging himself.  The rope was hung from a high rafter in the ceiling that could not be reached by anyone (not even someone particularly tall).  There were no chairs, tables, etc to stand on.  There is a puddle of water underneath the body.  How did he hang himself? 

I don't know if my answer is right, but maybe your brain teaser is a nicer version of mine.  I love those things, do you have anymore?

er....emmet....*points up at her previous post right above and laughs* guess who just said that exact same thing...? er, almost that exact thing anyways

(bows head with shame) .  You're right.  To be honest, I just read the brain teaser and skimmed through everyone elses.  I was too excited to make a guess.  All credit to you, my good friend!

I guess that too Arkillian, i think we're right. Another thing i noticed, if there's no door how did we end up there?

You must have fell into the room from the window *scratches head* cause I've never known that part myself Anywho when you were in the room the puddle was indeed a block of ICE which you used to reach the rope and swing (back?) out the window TADA

Normally you would be able to ask all those questions and have me tell you no the water won't rise, there is nothing else in the room,  you can't reach the rope or the window from the floor, and all the rest of the questions that bug the heck out of every one. If you ever feel like retelling this you can make up what ever answers you can think of as to why you can't get out of the room through any other means and how you got in there to begin with because those details aren't really important in solving how you really got out of the room
