It is a little something that I have been wondering about. I myself don't really have a favorite genre.I go from any kind of music to any kind of music.Example : I was listening to Cradle of Filth - " Hallowed be Thy Name " and then after it I started to listen to Corey Hart - " I wear my sunglasses at night  " LOL Quite a switch ne ?

*scratches head* heh [emoticon] , wish i knew names, lol, my tastes switch around too, from old songs like "cat's in the cradle" or "dust in the wind", to emo, goth, metal...what ever the heck you people call it now a days, things like green day (don't like them too much, it's just the only band i can think of at the moment...) then for some reason i love the song "animals" by nickelback [emoticon] ...hmmm...to old fifties songs like "love" ("L is for the way you look at me, O is for..." yeh, that song, lol) then we have celtic, love celtic, love enya and Sarah brightman, especially in "Harem" then that goes to musicals like phantom of the opera and les mis. [emoticon] i honestly like a random assortment of everything except for pop and rap...*shudders* hate that stuff...*ponders other random songs i like* oh oh! and strange songs like the drunken Scotsmen and squirrels!!! ("all we really are are SQUIRRELS!...) " [emoticon] alrighty, i'll shut up now

I have no preferred kind of music, it's pretty much something from everything. Right now I listen to world music mostly though. Jose Ángel Hevia, Lord of the Dance, alot of Irish music... Also some israeli artists by that genre but nobody would probably know if I told you. I love celtic and new age too; Enya, Clannad, Sarah Brightman, Vangelis, Yanni. I also like some jazz and oldies stuff... [emoticon] Well, that's pretty much what I listen to these days. [emoticon] Of course there's alot more I haven't mentioned. [emoticon]

Me, i listen to French Canadian music. A lot of groups from Québec are...hum...activist? I dunno if its the good word, but take one of my favorite group for example, Les cowboys Fringuants (The cowboys in shape, more or less, yeah their name is silly but not their music) They sing a lot of songs about the planet and how we should take care of it, theres a song in particular that made me cried like a baby, its the story of the last human on earth, he thinks of the past as he is dying because the earth can no longer support life. The song is just beautyful and a shocker. They sing about men and women who had bad childhoods and how they are struggling in their adult life... And of course most of good french canadian groups are huge nationalist! I am from Québec after all [emoticon]

I think i'll translate that song, it so beautyful, im sure you guys will like it.

Also, i like : System of a Down, Black Eye peas, Buju Banton, Tiken Ja Fakouli...(yeah i LOVE reggea) Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd...and the list goes on and on

[emoticon] THE BEATLES are my music gods [emoticon] I don't go a full week without some song or another of theirs [emoticon]

I listen to everything though I really do mean everything, when a group is mentioned that I don't know I find their music and see if I like the sound even though I may not know the words [emoticon]

I listen to bits of everything, but overwhelmingly my CD's are mostly punk.  Not the punk you usually may hear on the radio, but bands that are more "underground" I guess.  I don't like to call them underground, but for lack of a better description, they are.

I listen to: Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, The Ataris, Lagwagon, No Use for a Name, Millencolin, Flogging Molly, Pennywaise, Bouncing Souls, and some more that I can't think of at the moment.

I also listen to some j-pop, and more mainstream stuff like U2, musical soundtracks, Tori Amos, Sarah McLaughlin, Cowboy Mouth, classical, and the list could go on for awhile. [emoticon]

I like to listen to a variety of music. My genre favorites are goth/deathrock (real goth..not this 'metal' stuff) darkwave, industrial,  dark elektro, techno/trance, and some metal.

What I look for in music are good lyrics, unique sound, and atmosphere [emoticon] I also got a soft spot for crunchy, abraisive sounding music with dancy beats [emoticon]

Some of my favorite bands/artists: The Cruxshadows, Razed in Black, The Birthday Massacre, The Sisters of Mery, Siouxie and the Banshees, Christian Death, Moonspell, London After Midnight, Covenent, Assemblage 23, Das Ich, Plastic Angel, Silvertear (DDR!!!!!!!!!!1)..

Bands/artists what I am getting into: Rammstein, Skinny Puppy, Suicide Commando

I've got a few Cruxshadows MP3s- are all their songs like Eurydice? Those kinds of bands aren't advertised alot in New Zealand. Around here, it's mostly hip hop or Alternative. If its not pop then usually its considered underground at that point. I don't go clubbing, so I don't hear of many others...

I can listen to anything. And I mean anything> I can jump from heavy death metal stuff to rap out right classical stuff it all really depends on what I feel like listening to that day. Well I guess that's not totally true the only type of music I won't listen to is country [emoticon] No Way!! My favorite band is Linkin Park and my favorite singer is Fiona Apple (she rocks!)

Well, not exactly. If you listen to thier newer songs, it sounds more synthpop/electronic. The much older Cruxshadows songs are more guitar-based. It's kind of hard to take one song and base the sound off that as a judge.

Over here in America, it's hip-hop, rock, and nu-metal/metalcore that is really popular.

The internet is usually the best source for finding music like that(internet radios are good!)  xD Clubs are good too, especially if your looking for the more electronic music ^_^
