Tutorial Gallery

I just realized we don't have a tutorial gallery! Can we have one? Should we have one? Should we just make a thread in the forums for tutorials?

We have a tutorial section in the Writing area. There's only a few tutorials in there though. I'm open to suggestions for improving it.
I'd rather the tutorials be in the writing section than the art gallery.

This subject has never really come up before so I'm trying to think of a solution for this.

Tutorials really belong in the writing section. I think the best way to handle this is to post this image instead in your image folio and then write a tutorial and use the image folio code to display your image in the writing:
[ imgfp # ] - without spaces.

I may increase the image folio limit if people want to use images for tutorials. Or you could use something like photobucket, but i worry that the image will be removed from photobucket or something.

I'd rather you explain the content of the tutorial in text rather than placing it in an image. I've seen these sorts of tutorial things on Deviant Art and it is much better if you type it out in text. There are a couple good reasons for this.

One, if it's in text, search engines can spider the text and then when someone searches the web or our Google site search, they can find your tutorial.

Two, it's MUCH easier to read the text if it's actual text instead of an image.

I am open to suggestions on this.

Well what could be an issue here is: what if you want to create a tutorial about how you do art for others?

Like: how to make lineart, how to do cellshading etc

Most of the times you see not only text but also a lot of example pictures!

Maybe it would be nifty to have such a gallery then... and in the "discription" you have to explain then what kind of tutorial you made, since then you can find it by googling right?

It's just an idea though ^^;
