Well, there seems to be some interest around here, so I'm going for it [emoticon]

A colouring competition for a prize.... I donno what yet. Probably a commission from me or something from the PD store or something.

Anyways- I'm gonna give you 2 months to complete this. Approxitmatly. Then I'll talk to BR and see how I can do a poll around here maybe for voting. I don't know how it'll work here- usually at Deviantart, everyone watches me anyways so I just put out journals for this kind of thing.

So- the line arts!!

I wanted to give people a choice, cause I know how sucky it can be to HAVE To draw one particular line art that may not be your interest. So, I'm picking a few. The idea is that you e-mail me which you want to draw, and I'll send you this HUGE file back which is the picture and you go for it in what ever medium you chose to use [emoticon] ( arkillian@gmail.com ) Now, I'm posting the colour version on some cause well- some are hard to visualise without it ^^; You can do what ever colour you want BTW [emoticon]

thumb thumb thumb thumb thumb thumb thumb

You can also colour anything else in my gallery for the competition if you want- as long as I do have a lineart or pencil of some descritpion to colour under [emoticon]

That e-mail again is arkillian@gmail.com

ENTER THE COMPETITION!!!

Edit- Due to my injury, and other's lack of time, the closing date is now end of August. There will be no more extensions!!!

Sorry about the double post BR- I'm hopeing to bump this ahead in the forum messeges so it's easier to see, unless you can do something to keep it at the top for about a week [emoticon] I would like a few entries- so far there is two. Keep the entries rolling peoples- any media- any colours. There is enough interest- I'd like to see the entries to support it ^^

Thank you ^^ I wouldn't know what to do otherwise- everyone is going straight to e-mail cause there's no point posting on the thread unless they have questions ^^; Thanks [emoticon]

ARG!  [emoticon] Wow, this file's huge!  Dern you, Arkillian, my printer can't handle this!  He's special. [emoticon] Oh well, I can print it out at school.

-Later-

Ooh, I guess their printers are special, too.  Oh well, at least I got it printed.  It's rather pixellated, but that can't be helped.  *SIGH*

It is a little- the size means you can print the image sharply on A3- which is poster size. I like to keep professional sized pics- it loses impact if you see it all blurred. That's why I don't save as jpg anymore. What kind of printer do you have not to print it though? It takes a while to kernel, but it DOES print... You can shrink it first too. You flattened it first?

I have moved this thread to the new Contests Forum.

As added incentive, the winning piece of this contest will be displayed on the front page of PaperDemon.com.

Ark, please finalize the end date/due date for this competition and add that date to your first post in this thread. That way all the important contest info is displayed together in the first post.

We have a poll system that we can use for voting. You know, i never use it for anything really. I've had the poll for like 2 years and only held like 7 polls. I can never think of anything to poll. [emoticon] So I think I'll just modify it and just use it exclusively for contest voting.

By the way, since we now have an official Contest forum, i can create a special thing on the site where when you upload artwork you can designate it as for a contest on the site. That way all the entries can be displayed together automatically.

I don't know if i'll have time to get around to all of that stuff. but if i don't we can always take votes the old fashioned way (through PMs or something and tally the votes ourselves).

Well now Soozie love, this just kicks butt that you are doing this competition. By the way did you ever get my version of Alex Dragon since I redid the background to the cave type background? If not, let me know and I will resend it. I posted it up on deviant and linked you and your original pic.  Anyways, can we put that one in the competition? Or do you prefer I do something else? Let me know love. [emoticon]

Sorry hon- I was seriously busy at the time and had alot on my mind ^^; I totally forgot!! It was an interesting pic- I've noticed you've started a new techinique with doing fire [emoticon] You're starting to really develope in colouring ^^

I'd rather you did something new for the contest- I know that it ends up being the same thing anyways, but it's always good to do something fresh and new for a contest [emoticon] Tell you what- if you're really in the poo for givving me an entry I'll think about it, but I'd really like a new one ^^ That one was a collab, and it'd be a little rude to accept that but not any other collabs I've done with PD members ^^; Since it's new I'll accept it if you don't have time for a new one [emoticon] That's fair I think :nods:

Uhmm...you'll have to forgive me.  I'm still not very computer smart, yet.  As for poster size, I don't think that would work.  My scanner's rather small, and I wouldn't be able to rescan it.  Uhmm...I managed to get it all on one page (took me forever to figure it out, but I got it!) and ... flattening?

I'm not sure about my printer, and I'm not home now, but I'll check the second I get home.  Aaaannd, printing it at home froze my computer twice, so... [emoticon]

You printed it and hand coloured it? How could your scanner be smaller than A4? I didn't know that they made them that small ^^; Umm... yeah ^^;

I think Dollmaker thinks that poster size means 11x17. That's what I think of when i hear poster size anyway. Us Americans use Letter size for everything and don't know what A4 means.

But now we can educate ourselves:

Ahhhh- I say Millimeters and you say inches- I'll try not to be bitter.... Yeah- A3 is like.... Approx 11 1/2  x 16 inches (VERY approx. I HATE converting millimeters to inches X( ) I alwys print at A4 which is half that size- about letter size I believe. It's super sharp, and I'm picky so I don't scan lower cause I hate to see effort wasted by low resolution- sorry, it's a little hard to translate to American for me ^^; (With the mesurements and stuff)

Yeah we are all fubar over here in the US when it comes to measurements. We should probably use the metric system more often but we are so used to using inches and such.

*giggles* Yeah- Mum still compares things in pounds. It seriously gets on my nerves cause everyone around her is like "What is that in kilo?" We all have quirks though [emoticon]
