What?! What is this visual critique you speak of? What does it all mean?

Well I'll tell you. It's the greatest thing since... since... well, since the last great feature to be added to PaperDemon.

You can now upload an image with your art critiques! Yes! That means you can save someone's artwork to your computer, draw ontop of it in photoshop or whatever program you use, and then upload it with your comments! That is just awesome. It's a visual critique! Visual crits will be marked with a star [emoticon]

This will be a great tool that I expect to be used a lot for submissions in the Crit Wall. Please make good use of this handy feature.

I must say in advance. Please, do not upload images that aren't visual critiques. It wastes server space.

Ahhhh- this make alot more sence then!! It also means that personal gallery space isn't used, and links work first time every time!! Awesome idea!! ^^

Wow, susie!  That sounds SO awesome!  I'll be using it as soon as I can get my life back on track.  Maybe earlier, even.  [emoticon]

Much love!

We've been doing that for years in my other forums.

We called/call it the "Red Pen of Doom"

It started on our Mailing list "bishart" (that no longer exists because Yahoo!groups got way too full of spam.) probably in 2000 (ish)

Then we moved it to LiveJournal for a few years...

and just this weekend I put up it's own domain and forum...
YaoiArtists.com

Freaky coincidence you're doing this too and it's really good idea no matter how you slice it.

You can never have too much GOOD CONSTRUCTIVE visual crit
it's truly worth a thousand words.

Yeah I knew this was something that people were doing on other sites but there is only one site that I've seen that lets you upload the artwork right with your comment (acmeanimation.org), which is where I got the idea from. I also got the idea from you D. I remember you mentioning the Red Pen thing before.

Ark and I have been doing this sort of thing actually but we've been uploading the images either to our image folio or to our own gallery.

In practice, red penning helped me improve by leaps and BOUNDS...
I tell everyone to try it, It's a real good thing you're adopting it here too... it's a fabulous educational tool!

I hope people actually use it though. I will add a little blurb on the crit page (the little pop up) saying that red pen crits are encouraged if it's a Roast. Then I can have it link to a page explaining what it is.

That sounds cool.  ^^;; I'm sure I'll use it one of these days.  Doodling on other people's work (to help them, of course) sounds like a blast.  And it'd be so much easier to explain things.  [emoticon]

Excellent addition. Redlines are so useful as critiques, so I hope it gets a lot of use. It should make things easier to understand too, if they are hard to word.

I'm pretty excited. Even though I rarely make use of the crit wall, lol. It would be fun just to take a friend's art and doodle on it just for the sake of doodling.
