The Contests forum is only for information about contests or competitions. They can be links to competitions on other sites, or you can hold your own contest. If you are starting your own contest here at PD, be sure to include all the important information about the contest such as the rules, duration of the contest, prizes, number of winners, etc. in the first post of your Contest forum thread.
If you are hosting a contest, please include the following information in the first post of your contest thread:
- Title of Contest (this should be the subject of your forum post)
- Contest Rules
- What types of submissions are allowed (artwork, writing, comic, etc.)
- Deadlines
- Number of winners
- Prizes for different winner spots (if you do not have a prize, send a PM to BogusRed. A free one-month premium account may be arranged if there are at least 10 PD members participating in the competition)
- How winner will be chosen
- public poll OR
- list of judges OR
- other, please describe
Only Moderators can move topics into this forum, so start your topic in another forum that is appropriate such as the Art forum if it is an Art competition, etc. Then
send a PM to BogusRed about moving your forum thread into the Contest forum.
We also have a
Contests User Group set up. So if you are hosting your own contest, please PM me so that I can create a new gallery in the user group for your contest. What this does is allows the site members to place
all the entries to your contest together in one gallery. Pretty neat huh? The participants in the contest will need to join the Contests user group in order to submit artwork to the contest galleries. Joining the group is as easy as a few clicks.
Just
view the Contest User Group. Then click on
Join this Group on the left. Confirm that you want to be added. And that's it!
