This is a list of proposed or requested features. Think of it as a sort of To Do list. If you have a feature that you'd like to have added to the list, start a new topic in the Suggestion Box to discuss with the community the idea you have.
Profiles:
- Privacy settings. Allow users to set their profiles to private so that only pd members can view their profile.
- Those accepting commissions have something special displaying on their profile. perhaps a graphic of a paper demon saying "I accept commissions" - added January 9, 2008
- See latest 10 or so members to visit your profile
- Display latest writing favorite - added Feb 7, 2008
- Polls for premium members - added Feb 8, 2008
- Post public comments on members profile pages.
Artwork/Comics/Writing:
- Watch artists and have notifications when users on watchlist post artwork or writing. topic discussed here. This was a highly requested feature. Launched 5/5/07. News post
- Link artwork and writing together
- Add the add image button to FCK editor for writing. Added Oct 2006
- Allow uploads of Microsoft word documents for writing (i have no clue how to get this to work so I won't ever be able to get this unless someone can tell me how to do it >.< ) Added Oct 24, 2006
- Delete Chapter functionality for writing. Currently no way to delete a chapter. Added March 13th 2007
- Link artwork and writing submissions submitted for contests to the contest topic. Oct 2006 through Contests Group.
- User Group polls (Contests group needs polls)
- Pre-form submit form validation with Javascript
- Select all button for selecting crits in inbox and removing them.
- RSS feeds on galleries.
- Hidden artwork. Added Sept 2006
- Private comments. Comments only the artist of the artwork/writing can view.
- Add artists who are external (non PD artists). Type in name of artist and then put in a link to the user's gallery on another site.
- Always view full view artwork setting Added January 2007
- Optimize selecting galleries/libraries page in members area via xml.
- For comics, collapse pages of comic into drop downs. each arc with a zippy drop down to avoid overly long about comic pages.
- Premium account feature: when adding artwork to public galleries have another tab for custom galleries so user can add new work to custom galleries right on that page.
- Account setting that allows you to switch all thumbnails to the small 75x75 ones (for dial up users).
- [thumb] like codes for comics and writing. discussion - Added Feb 9, 2008.
Forums:
- Disable double posting, forcing people to edit their previous post.
- Topic watcher/topic reply notifications
- forum watch (get email when new message posted in forum)
- Search topics added April 5, 2007, powered by Google custom search.
- RSS feeds on forums.
- Create Red Curtain forums - launched Feb 14, 2008
- Oekaki paint system that saves artwork in the art gallery and in the oekaki gallery - the forum discussion launched Dec 6, 2006.
- Thread autoprune archive. Topics not active for two months or more are put in an archive and automatically locked.
Other:
- Buddy list groups. As in creating different sub-groups of buddies.
- Allowing only members or people on your buddylist to view a particular artwork, writing, or journal entry
- Webcomics - this might involve creating a WHOLE new section of the site specifically for comics allowing you to link together your comics. More about this topic discussed here. Comics section Launched Oct 2006.
- Usergroups and user group galleries Groups launched Sept 2006 but some elements still in progress.
- Google Desktop gadget that lists newest artwork via xml feed
- Outbox for Private messages.
- Journal/Blog - in beta testing for over a year originally planned for release to premium members. Launched on December 23, 2007 for all members.
- Random Page Not Found. DIscussed in June 2007.
- Blog/Polls subscription. Subscribe to a member's polls and/or blogs and then you'll be notified when a new poll or blog entry is posted.
