New features to Subscriptions/Follows

Hello everyone. This is the second installment of our PD version 14.0 Feature highlight news post. Today I'd like to highlight some of the improvements to the Subscriptions system...

The biggest improvement to subscriptions is you can now choose to receive email notifications of new work by your favorite artists and authors. When you choose to follow an artist/author, a pop up will appear asking you how you want to be notified. You can leave it at the default, which is view online only. Or you can choose to receive a once daily or once weekly email summarizing all of the new work posted. You can set this on a per artist/author basis which is great if you don't want to be emailed about every single thing. The same goes for subscribing to stories, forums, and forum threads. If you want to edit your existing subscriptions to turn on email notifications, visit the edit subscriptions page.

Oh and by the way, you can now subscribe to comics! You can follow your favorite comic author and receive notices on all of their new comics. Or you can choose to subscribe to specific comics. You can also follow blogs as well.

Subscribing got easier, too. Whenever you view any artist or author's profile, you'll see a handy bar on the left side of the page with buttons to let you "follow" them. I changed the terminology from "subscribe" to "follow" as I thought this term would be more familiar. When you are following someone, it shows in bright green with a checkmark. So it's easy to tell who you are and are not following.
