Inuyasha and Kagome's easing into their first night together as husband and wife. Awww!

The colored version of the earlier sketch, found here...

[link]

I thought about adding in some highlights to the skin, but thought that would be overkill. The colors also need to be blended a little better; so I'll most likely fix it up a little later.

Inuyasha/Kagome @ Rumiko Takahashi.

This is a beautiful pic.

I'm kinda sad that the series is officially over. I feel a bit empty because Inuyasha is what got me into anime and I really would like to know more. Like the relationship between Rin and Sesshomaru. Or if Inuyasha and Sesshomaru reconcile as brothers. Ah well, the series had to end one of these days.

The only messed up about the entire series, is that Kagome is her own great, great, great, great, great grandmother...

Thank you very much. [smiley]

About the question about the last chapter...

The only thing I think can be said for sure about the questions you have is that Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha have reconciled - maybe not what you would call best buds or anything, but most definitely civil to one another.

Proof of this would be the fact that Sesshoumaru trusts Inyuasha with Rin's safety - as his ward lives within the village that Inuyasha protects. That's a very telling sign that big brother has faith in little brother's competence. [smiley]

In regards to the Rin/Sesshoumaru relationship - I feel it's as it's always been: paternal (father/daughter). If it was even hinted at being anything more than that, I think Rin would be residing in the sky castle with Inu Okaasan (Sesshoumaru's mom) or in a more lavish human enclosure (a castle or something) and being taught the proper ways of a future lady to a Lord, instead of living in a human village and being an active part of the simple society.

And finally, Kagome as her own great, great, great grandmother? :/ I don't feel there is any evidence of that. Just because Kagome is now residing in the past doesn't make her the founding member of her own family's origin.

I've always had a theory that Kagome might be MirSan's distant ancestor, but certainly not her own. That would mean she married her own great great great whatever grandfather. Ew.

But how about that for a paradox with the MirSan theory? If she hadn't shattered the jewel then she wouldn't exist. lol

Since you say roast, I feel safe. [smiley]

The anatomy is almost there, but just not quite... it's just some little things here and there (and I'm an absolute anatomy freak). The main two issues I see in that area are his arm and the feet. The back portion of his arm is a bit too wide and that makes his arm look a bit too beefy, and the foot looks rather inflated. It looks like you're headed in the right direction, though, particularly in the male vs. female muscle structure.

As for coloring it looks like you are mixing black with your colors in order to darken them, which is making them look a little muddy/chalky. I don't know what program you use, but if you're using photoshop be sure to move your color chooser straight to the right to further saturate the color instead of moving it to the right and down. Doing that puts black into the color.

Something that will make them look more integrated with each other as well as their environment (i.e. they look like they're hovering a little over the futon) is to reflect some of their colors on each other and the futon. Bouncing some of the red of his hakama onto the underside of his arm, her tummy and some on the futon and then reflecting some of the futon onto the underside of her clothing and his hakama will really make things look unified.

I agree with KrisCynical.
I'm not very good at digital artwork, but I've been taught by my art teacher to use the opposite colors of the object you're shading to shade (Ex: red shadows have tinges of blue/purple in them.)
The fingers on Inu's left hand need to wrap around the back, not disappear into it. Same with Kag's hands.
His left hand would also look better threaded into her hair.
I can't tell you how many people have told me the same types of things.
The folds in the cloth look superb as well as the background. Most of the shading is nice. I'd just fix those two areas.
I truly appreciate how tastefully this artwork has been done. [smiley]

I disagree on the hands, actually... hands look like that when they're wrapping around something at the first knuckle so none of the fingers are visible. It's a tough anatomical angle to learn and I don't really see anything wrong with them. Maybe a slight tweak at best on his hand, but I actually think hers is rather well done.

I second your comments on the opposite colors/compliment colors in the shading. If the light source is warm then the shadow is going to be cool. So if your light source was, say, firelight, it would be yellow-orange light and would thus produce a blue/violet tinged shadow. A good way to get some of that into the shadow color is to bump up the cyan and magenta color sliders or else adjust the color balance on the image (Ctrl+B in Photoshop).

I think a good next step for the artist would be to start playing with more environmental light. They obviously have an understanding of how shading generally works.

I also forgot to mention before... nice touch with the splash of flushed pink across Kagome's cheek. [smiley]

If it's simply because DA wants to decrease the number of fanarts on their site, why not cut out all the bullshit and simply state 'Fanarts are not accepted here'?

I wonder if anything is being done with all the other fanart out there that violate that new blusshit clause of theirs...

I don't know, but they're just being asinine now. Do you know Kriscynical? She's been being targeted like no other. The person admitted to reporting her, and is getting a royal ass-chewing now. Serves them right. Anyhow, I am gonna start reporting some of the TRULY inappropriate stuff that seems to go unpunished over there.

Good luck with that - DA seems to have the unfortunate habit of not abiding by their own set rules (Lord knows I've reported daily deviations that depicted breast suckling and semi-erect penis cupping and the answers I'd get back was 'report is invalid' [smiley] . XP

And yeah, I caught Kris' problems as soon as they started (she's on my watchlist - so I caught her journal soon after she mentioned the deletion of her work).

AS others have mentioned in her journal - I hope the admins actually do their job and ban that guy for harrassment; as well as do an IP trace to ban the original user.

Yup, an investigation is going on.

Here's hoping something is resolved in this case - the admin in question is a repat offender when it comes to deleting images that have violated no ToS/policies before.
