All reviews for Seven Feudal Fairy Tales

This is really, really interesting! A great start, and the plot intrigues me...

There are a few little mistakes, nothing that I can't get by. I do, however, wish it was more up-to-date, since it's upposed to have been 2 years. But that's ok, I know not everyone is up to date on Inuyasha, and you probably planned this a while ago!

All in all, a fabulous start! I can't wait to read more, so I'm gonna get over to Chapter 2. :o)

Thank you I haven't written much before honestly. Persuasive essays really. So this is for the most part my first foray in creative writing.

I actually chose to do it in this time frame. Things get very complicated in the later chapters of Inu-Yasha and I wanted to place it during a comparative lull in the canon story.

I also wanted to write it so that it fits in with the main story. I always hate it when I read something that purports the future, such as the final battle with Naraku and has elements that are changed as the manga goes in a different direction. Like Kikyou's death or Sesshoumaru's mom being alive. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but it's how I feel

Oh, ok! I understand. Well sure, everyone has their likes and dislikes. It doesn't - by any means - take away from the story. I guess it's just the fangirl in me that prefers Sesshoumaru with 2 arms and Bakusaiga. XD

Ah, those first fanfics are always great. You'll see - once you're almost done with this you'll either hate it and swear them off, or you'll love them and start a new one. I, unfortunately, scewed myself that way. When I was almost done with one, I started another. And I only got a few chapters in before starting yet another. My advice to you is to stick with one at a time, unless you have a LOT of spare time on your hands... T-T I'm so anxious to keep my story going that I'm killing myself... lol I just want to get to the good parts.

Now they can't get anything done in the story until he shows up with the Bakusaiga in one hand and the Tenseiga in the other. He's a one taiyoukai army. All hail the fluff!

Well, I'm trying to keep it going. I really want to do my Arabian Nights idea that I got a few weeks ago, with him as the king and Kagome telling the stories to essentially keep her head. If only, just to tell the story of Aladdin with Miroku filling in the main part.

I'm finishing this story first though, because it's a lot of fun honestly and there is some pretty serious things coming up in the later stories. Although the humor will always be there

That sounds interesting! Miroku actually looks disconcertingly like Alladdin, and Sango like Jasmine... o_O

You see how the writing bug gets you?! LOL It's really hard for me, because I have resolved to making each chapter at least 10,000 words, or at least close enough. It takes a good 10+ hours to write that, especially if I'm distracted. But luckily I haven't caught the writers' block...

Yeah, I know how it is. Sometimes I'll finish a chapter and just keep going, although I know I need to get going on a different story, lol.

Ugh... I go for 2,500 words... more or less. It takes me 6-8 hours just to do that. I'm slow and I tend to wander off to chase shiny things. Very bad.

Inu-Yasha is gonna be the genie who's been stuck in the lamp for 50 years... It's gonna be hilarious.

I was thinking about writing a one-shot lemon though, just to try out my citrusy skills before I get to it in Seven Feudal.

I wish I could only do that much. But my readers love long chapters, and I enjoy writing long chapters. And I know what you mean. If it's not the husband it's the dog or cats. Always something.

The oneshot lemon is a GREAT idea. If you haven't written them before, I can tell you - it WILL help. In my first fanfic, Always, I dove into the lemon chapter headfirst without ever having written one before. Now I look back at it like, UGH! I could've done much better... -.-

I've got an idea for one. Maybe I'll do it over Thanksgiving when I have a lot of time to spend on it. Lemon writing sounds like so much fun though I'm looking forward to it

Oh BOY is it fun. I've been getting carried away with citrusy parts in my AU fic... I have to check my reins. And since oneshots don't really require much backstory and don't need a plot, they are PERFECT for limey practice. I plan on doing a SessKag lemon oneshot for my challenge, but have to concentrate on the chapter I'm working on first.

There are times when I am so enthralled by your use of words. You have a very poetic nature. I could never some up with descriptions like that. By the way, I love how you twisted this. Great plot, and hopefully Sesshy will stop being such an ass. LOL

When I think of those two... I can only think of the comedy that would erupt. Sesshoumaru is such the perfect straight man and Kagome can be so... wiggy, although I think I pick on the poor girl too much sometimes.

I know, I know. I think it's WHY they're my favorite 'ship. They're just so different that it only makes sense for them to get jumbled together to the point that they begin to like each other.

Oh, poor Kagome. I actually tend to pick on Sesshoumaru a little more, lol. I'm constantly avoiding his sword and rolling out of the way of his claws... One day, he'll catch and kill me for putting him through so much... hehe.

And then before you know it, you'll be mounted on his wall over the fireplace, while he reclines back and smokes his pipe.

I'm not familiar with the folk tales, but now I feel the urge to read into them, just for good measure.

I do a variation on them. They're not 100% exactly right, but then again Sessh and Kag are not the characters from the story either. How they act influences the story in sometimes interesting ways.

Exactly! Not to say they're the same, but it's reminiscent of Tales from the House of the Moon. How she reads the legends and she is (mostly) the one that the story is about. So this is similar, but much more humorous. And the fact that you tied it in with poems, and everything... it's just really great planning.

I don't even remember how this story started... I think I was dissatisfied with a lot of the Sessh/Kag fics out there. I don't read that often, but I wanted to see what had been done. I kept coming across stuff and hating it for whatever reason until I finally decided that I was gonna write my own.

I wanted to do Japanese fairy tales and thought a magical scroll would be interesting. The renku poetry was pretty much an accident, but when I was reading up on it, it fit so well. I think the key to writing their relationship is to put them in a situation where they can't a.) kill each other and b.) need to rely on each other. I think I managed that well enough.

Ugh. How true. I love 'a single spark' for being all about SessKag, but I wish there was a 'trash' filter. I came across a story the other day that had such a stupid point, and then the author(if you can call her that) had the audacity to leave a note saying, "I know their characters are OOC and there really isn't a plot, but who cares, as long as it's SessKag, right?" I wanted to wring her little neck. Somewhere along the line, fanfics lost their meaning. And I'm not a happy camper.

Jeez, research kicks my ass. I did so much research for my AU fic that I ALMOST said 'screw it'. But I think I'm not that kind of person... o_O Luckily I don't have to really do any more research for it... You're totally right, and a lot of people don't get that. They think they can throw these two together and they're going to , like, jump on each other. But our taiyoukai and miko have other, er... plans. Like, Kagome would prefer living and Sesshoumaru would prefer not to mess up his pristine clothes with miko guts.

I hate it when people tell you that they can't write summaries and to just read it to find out. If you can't write a short blurb on what you want me to read, I can only imagine what the actual story is like.

I hate OOC too... Kagome isn't a bitch or a saint and Sessh isn't uber emotional. They don't really care for each other in the manga, which makes them fun to write in fanfiction, as you can toss them into whatever situation you like and watch them sink or swim

LOL Yeah. When I see the dreaded words "I suck at summaries" I think 'Well, then you suck at writing, too, and shouldn't be submitting fanfiction and wasting our search engine's time.'

Heh, you leave me wanting! I wonder what the Emperor will say. For whatever reason, I imagine the Emperor from Mulan, even though it's a different country, LOL.

Great job keeping this going. And I'm glad you haven't jumped into the SessKag relationship. Under normal circumstances, we all know it would take quite some time before these two could become fond of each other.

Actually, I have four more chaps finished, but two of them I want to edit before posting here.

I should put it on dA, I should... but I don't know how many people read fics on there. In fact, that's why I was reticent about posting it here until recently.

*nods* I understand. dA is very visual-heavy. But that's because it's mostly youngsters, looking for fanart. Of all the places my fanfics are posted, dA is one of the least important. And of course, they make it so difficult, since we have to cut-and-paste and insert html (that's the worst part for me, although sometimes I catch mistakes that way, lol)

I've had the most success at mediaminer, fanfiction, and inuyashafanfiction. A little at a single spark, too. Here at PD, there aren't too many ff seekers as well. I don't get many comments or faves. To be honest, the only reason I knew about your story is because I looked at 'Latest FanFiction' for my own story, and the title of your story grabbed me. Then, of course, when I found out it was SessKag, it was on like Donkey Kong.

Yeah, I know that about dA. I don't even bother posting original art there. But having throngs of teenagers getting goofy over my fanart amuses me enough for me to be happy.

when you described the old woman as the biggest they'd ever seen i pictured her as a fat sumo wrestler, not as a giant lol. i liked the starting scene with the sheets and with kagome landing on sess's fur.

Yeah, his standard, impassive expression is great, although I think deep inside he's rather entertained by her constant hijinks. I mean, who wouldn't be?

Well, when you think about it, he is RATHER tolerant of Rin's hijinks. So he has some practice. But Kagome can be quite... irritable, so of course he doesn't let her know that he's amused by her actions sometimes. But I think he's beginning to respect her... a little. XD

So much is going to happen... things that no one is going to expect, especially those two. Fairy tales can be very twisted places...

Unfortunately, in the world of fanfiction, you can't really buy publicity that good. Word of mouth and stuff like being nominated are the best ways.

I need to pop over and read yours Good luck on finishing your long chapter... I make my readers take their short chapters, but in exchange I try to update fairly often.

I've had chapters like that before. Short, but updated quickly. But - and this is just my preferance - I feel unsatisfied after writing short chapters. I wind up Posting them, and then saying to myself, 'I should have put so-and-so scene in there...'. So instead, I write til I drop. XD I'm not sure that's better, but keh, we can't be perfect.

I like short ones... they're like little, tasty bite-size morsels. I feel like I'm being invested into something that requires a lot of time when the chapters are long. I can stop and go somewhere else with a short one, without losing my place. Plus people want me to update weekly and so short is what they get. Hell, they want me to update more often than that... several of them check daily
