This is another of the poems I compiled for children. This one was the first, which I wrote years ago.
Have you ever seen a grizzle
I saw one just last night
It was sitting on my windowsill
It gave me quite a fright
Now grizzles don’t look friendly
They’re just not made that way
And if you ever met a grizzle
This is what he’d say:
“Grizzles don’t eat children
They’re much too sweet for us
Children don’t taste half as nice
As a bitter grown-up does”
