Chapter 1

Letting out a gigantic yawn as the sun’s glorious rays gazed into the Ketchum household, Ash rolled around on his bunk, stirring Pikachu from its slumber.

“Pikachuuuu,” It grumbled at the now 13 year old, rubbing its dark eyes pitifully. Ash laughed, scratching the rodent behind its ears.

“Don’t be so grumpy Pikachu! Professor Oak has invited us around to tell us some important news, remember? Something about a league somewhere in the Tatakai Islands. Even Gary is excited!”

“And if you don’t get up quick, Gary will have gone already and he’ll beat all the gym leaders first again!” Misty yawned from the bottom bunk, picking up her over excited Togepi. “How about you get a head start this time, huh?”

“Gary is always ahead of me,” Ash grumbled, as she jerked him off the bed.

“Come on! Brock was up an hour ago making breakfast.”

“Alright! Food!” Ash grinned positively, catching Pikachu as it bounced off the bunk.

“Pika Pikachuuu!” Pikachu beamed at Togepi, as it lit up happily.

“I hope Brock and Mr Mime are getting along alright,” Ash said thoughtfully, as the two left the room. As they entered the kitchen, they found Brock darting around the room in a chaotic fit.

“No Mr Mime! I’m cooking breakfast! No, don’t touc... No, no! I’ll clean that up!”

“Mr Mr Mime!

“The broom is mine!”

“Mime!”

“They’re still fighting over housework,” Misty sighed, holding Togepi tighter. “I don’t think it’s safe to let Togepi walk around if those two are here.”

“I don’t think it’s safe for anyone to be in here,” Ash blinked, resting his arms behind his head. “Should we bother trying to stop them?”

“Lets not.” Misty replied quickly, scampering past the kitchen to the living room.

“Good morning Misty and Ashicums!” Mrs Ketchum beamed brightly from out of nowhere. “I heard that you were going to talk to Professor Oak about the Tanawake something or a rather league.”

“Tatakai league,” Ash corrected, as Pikachu bounced off his shoulder, “He says that there are a whole bunch of new pokemon only found on those islands.”

“Well, you better bring plenty of clean you know whatists. Call me every day, and brush your teeth regularly.”

“Uhhh...”

“Oh, and Ash?”

“Yeah?”

“Bring home the Tawhanga league trophy, ok?”

“Tatakai league, Mom!”

“Oh whatever. Do Pallet town proud son!” She smiled, giving the bashful boy a kiss on his cheek. “Train hard.”

“Brock and I will make sure of that, Mrs Ketchum!” Misty beamed, pocking Ash in the side. “Wont we, Ash!”

“Uh, yeah...” Ash looked aside, blushing as his stomach suddenly erupted into a loud grumble.

“You should get a muffler for that,” Misty shook her head, dragging Ash out into the kitchen. “Brock! Is breakfast ready?” Brock stood stiffly by the fridge, giving Mr Mime a deathly glare.

“It was its fault.” He stated, not flinching one bit.

“Mimey Mime!” Mr Mime crossed its arms firmly, ignoring Brock back.

“I... Wonder what’s up with those two?” Ash blinked thoughtfully, not noticing Pikachu bounce past him.

“Pika Pika chu,” Pikachu pointed at a pile of food littering the ground. Ash’s jaw dropped in surprise.

“That was my breakfast! Arrrgh!”

“Oh Mr Mimey,” Mrs Ketchum sighed, gazing at the mess. “You two aren’t fighting again are you? Brock asked if he could make breakfast this morning.”

“Mr Miiiime.” It replied sadly, lowering its ashamed head.

“You killed breakfast! Ohhhh...”

“You two don’t mind cleaning it up, do you?”

“Don’t worry, Mrs Ketchum!” Brock suddenly lit up, mysteriously obtaining a mop. “Leave this up to me!”

“Mr Mime!”

“Hey! I said that I’d clean it up!” Ash sighed as his stomach grumbled again.

“My stomach is just as frustrated as me. I wonder, do you think that Professor Oak has something to eat at his lab?”

“Something that Brock and Mr Mime haven’t destroyed yet.” Misty piped.

“I agree.” Ash grinned.

Mrs Ketchum sighed, leading her son to the front door. “I’ll tell Brock that you’re at Professor Oak’s lab when they eventually finish fighting. Now, you better hurry! We can’t keep the professor waiting!”

“Alright, Mom!”

“See ya Mrs Ketchum!”

“Pika pi!”

“Togepiiiii!”

“Groooooowl.”

“Uhhh. That was my stomach.”

Aaaash!

Shedding a tear, Mrs Ketchum waved her son and friend off as they headed off on another exciting journey. Smiling to herself, she headed off into the garden once more.

“I hope Ash doesn’t let his pride get ahead of him. He’s still got a lot to learn, especially if he’s going to get that nice girl, Misty to go out with him!” Giggling to herself quietly, she lulled herself back into her flowers.

“Those two make such a cute couple...”
