Dragon Twins is a medieval fantasy story about a family of defenders and their legacy to defend the world against the Drakobius- a force of pure evil. Most of my art comes from this story. This story is an unfinished cause the first chapter is too long. I want to post some of it here though ^^ Note the date in the title ^^

Chapter 2

“He’s too young. You can’t give that much power to a mere boy.”

“I know, but this one is different. I think he may be the one…”

The absoluteness of body and time hovered in space, as if death to the old was just a matter of fiction. From out of nowhere, these voices, stranger than sound to a deaf man, echoed in the vast universe of the mind. Yet, as quickly as the words came, the world disappeared, replaced by the hues of light- burning cries of anger and pride soared through the air. A dragon, red as a dying sun flared, splitting into two silhouettes, dissolving once more into the image of a five year old boy. Tears rolled down his young, burning eyes. The day for him drew near… What day was it? For what? Why was it happening? Who…? The child dropped to his knees and wept.

“I don’t understand! What is coming? What do you want from me?”

Silence- once a swear word to the dull lives of the Daniels household, had lately became more of a luxury. Stirring from a nearby room, Angela Daniels awoke abruptly. Sighing to herself, she crawled out of her bed, and grabbed a robe. Careful not to disturb her husband beside her as she got up, she made her way toward her son’s room, stuffing herself into her robe. Sure enough, she discovered a finally quiet room, with a dark haired teen dangling off the side of his bed in shock. She smiled softly, as he spotted her.

“You had that nightmare again, Alex dear?” She asked softly, assisting him back onto his bed. “Tonight would have to mark the second week in a row. Do you need to see someone about it?”

“No,” He laughed, rubbing his head bashfully. “I’ll be all right. It’s just a stupid dream. I’m not losing sleep over it or anything.”

“I am,” Angela replied sternly, bending down, and rubbing his back soothingly. “You maybe a bright and extremely energetic boy that can handle only a few hours of sleep a night, but I know that I’m finding it very hard.” Alex closed his eyes empathetically, digging himself back into his bed again.

“I’m really sorry Mum, but I still don’t think it’s from the pressure of tossing around my ice hockey, and figure skating classes. I’ve been trying though! I nearly took up speed skating as well, but I don’t think I have the time with champs comi…”

“That’s my little Alex,” She laughed quietly, drawing a tear from her eyes. “Always on the move. Always doing something exciting. Just like your father and I,” Giving him a loving kiss on the cheek, she rose to her feet, “Maybe you should just be happy with the two though. Slow down a little. You have school to contend with too, remember? And your birthday is coming up in a couple of days.”

“I’ll try, Mum,” Alex grinned, watching her wander back toward her bedroom silently. Taking in a deep breath however, a frown appeared on his face. He knew that he was lying. There was no way he was going to give up his ice-skating for an extra hour of sleep. Sleeping only made him more tired. He was just going to have to grow out of it. Sooner or later… Right?

Closing his eyes once more, he let his mind wander back to his dreamland.

I always get these dreams around my birthday. Every year. I wonder if it’s trying to tell me something. He thought softly, rolling his hazel eyes toward the window. It’ll only be for two more nights. That dream always disappears after my birthday.

But it comes back every year.

The same time.

The same child- lost, lonely… just as confused as himself.

Glazing back to his moon lit ceiling in wonder, he sighed deeply. I don’t know why you keep coming back, dream- but please let my mother sleep for the rest of the night. Goodness knows she deserves it…
