Guldo and Goku
They recognized the atmosphere immediately- as the planet they had just been ordered to clear out. It seemed to have been taken before they went down to the planet, as all the precious mountain ranges still remained intact, and far off in the distance could be seen (and even heard by the Saiyans) a village without the visual smoke that indicated pillaging and total destruction.
Now usually, the atmosphere of the planet alone would not be enough to remind Vegeta which planet was being shown, as most planets with inhabitable life on them showed grassy plains, desert, snow, oceans, mountains- one of those. This time however, he recognized it immediately. The long grassy plain with mountains at the back, the river in the distance, the clear blue sky and wandering animals nearby for village produce had tipped him off.
It wasn’t particularly moving scenery, not like the beautiful deep red rocks and pooling hot sandy floors of Vegeta-sei, but he still recognized it- after all, who wouldn’t recognize a planet they had demolished not more than 48 hours ago? It was a planet so full of life… so valuable- yet lacking in strong warriors to protect it. That had surprised him.
“So what, Frieza? What’s this about? We cleared out that planet just as you asked, not a soul there still lives!” Vegeta complained.
“Vegeta, my dear Vegeta, it was such a small planet… do you wonder why I sent the proud Saiyans there to take it over?” Frieza was snide.
Truth be told, Vegeta had thought that the lord was doing it just to belittle them once more, sending them to wipe out insignificant fools whose power levels didn’t even reach over 200.
“No, but now I'm curious, Frieza,” Vegeta smirked sarcastically, causing those red eyes that bore in front of him to flash dreadfully.
Frieza nodded to the recorder, who un-paused the image, after telling the Saiyans that these were satellite images taken from the ship he sent to the planet before sending the Saiyans. Vegeta’s eyes widened- Frieza had sent others before them? So why even send them?
In the distance something fell from the sky, a round circular object with smoke shooting behind it as it crashed below. The descent was silent, until the plummet into the ground. The picture closed in to reveal a white sphere space ship- and for a minute Vegeta thought he was looking at one of Frieza’s pods- perhaps even his own- until it opened and from inside there was a small groan. “Ouchie…” he moaned softly, one hand grasping onto the outside of the pod he had been put in, before pulling himself to his feet and stepping out into the open.
He gladly jumped away from the terrible contraption he had been stuffed in before being blown back by the impact of it exploding on him. He landed a few metres away, flat on his face, bum and tail in the air, muttering something incoherent about technology not agreeing with him.
He sat up and blew the spiky black bangs out of his face that had drooped down from their usual sticky up position over his head, and juddered away the ache.
For a moment he seemed docile, confused, and then in an instant his head snapped up in reaction to something none of the people in Frieza’s room could sense, as the young boy had sensed this danger as it was happening. Vegeta saw the imminent danger sensed in this boy’s body movement- his tail was swishing anxiously, and his head pointed up with his hair seemingly acting as antennae.
“What’s going on?” the boy questioned, looking around wildly, suddenly looking like his chest was being crushed from some sort of strong aura. “Wow! What a huge set of power levels!” he gasped, before frowning and looking up at the clouds he had just ploughed a hole through. “Kinto’un!” he called loudly, waiting for a few moments before a glimmer of gold shone from the eastern sky.
Moments later, a little glowing orangey gold cloud had surfaced nearby the boy’s feet. This ‘flying nimbus’ or Kinto’un (as it was called) waited for the small boy to hop onto as if it was solid instead of a dispersing mist substance, but somehow he remained standing on it.
“Alright Kinto’un- there’s strong ki activity over there- where that town is- lets go see if anyone needs help!” he decided, standing forwards, and no sooner than he did the little cloud obeyed and sped off with the boy still on top of it, leaving behind a trail of gold.
They drifted quickly over the skies towards the village- and the boy grew more unsettled with each passing metre- he could sense the desperate battling of helpless villagers and the murderous evil warriors attacking them. Why were they doing this?! He swooped down into the large town, swinging out something from his side, a ½metre long stick for attacking purposes which, against him, was of a sufficient size.
His eyes drifted over the scene below desperately, a lost cause now to most- it had taken mere moments for the soldiers to blast the town to smithereens- and now all they were doing was seeking out survivors and killing them. This wasn’t war, this wasn’t a disagreement between people and it wasn’t a conquest to take the town over- this was pure and simple annihilation- but why- he just didn’t understand!
“STOP IT!” He yelled, to the bewildered men below, men of all kinds, human, canine, reptilian and amphibian.
None had expected a boy on a little cloud to come sweeping down to them, and they especially didn’t expect him to just mow them all down like daisies in one powerful smack of a stick, not failing to hit one of them on the head unconscious.
The news spread fast, and soon the black spiky headed youth with a swinging tail had taken care of all the other men too… until only one was left- hardly an impressive looking warrior by any standards- but his Grandpa always told him never to judge by appearances. Besides, during the Tenka’ ichi Budokai, he had met many foes who were more than what they seemed.
He hopped down from the cloud to greet the small green frog-like foe, and sensed the nervousness pouring from him. He sniffed the fear but made no attempt to lessen it- after all- this man was responsible for the deaths of all the people in the village that lay in flames around them.
“Who- who are you?!” the beady four eyed amphibian croaked, making a stance and shaking terribly.
“My name is Son Goku! Who are you- and what are you doing here?” the boy with a tail named Goku asked coolly. “Whoever you are, you better leave earth alone!”
“An earthling? Impossible! Earthlings aren’t supposed to have this much power! Those that do have all been eliminated!” he stumbled back, his eyes bugging out.
Goku’s face cleared. “What?” he breathed in shock. “Whose been eliminated?!” Goku demanded.
“Shut up you little monkey tail- this whole planet is going to be destroyed and sold by the will of Lord Frieza!” he had a sudden bout of confidence.
“Frieza? Is he the bad guy? And he ordered you to do this? Alright then…” Goku nodded breaking his stance. “Who are you?”
“I am Guldo, the Ginyu elite!” Guldo replied complete with a sneer, as if the mere name of the force should frighten the boy- but Goku looked most unimpressed.
“Guldo- I wanna see Frieza! Where is he?!” Goku demanded, pointing, when the frog broke into the most horrifically squealed laugh. “What’s so funny?!” Goku held out his staff again.
“A runt like you doesn’t have the right to see Lord Frieza- besides- if you’re thinking of begging for your little planet you can think again! What Lord Frieza wants, Lord Frieza gets!” Guldo made a ‘rabbit’ sound at the end of his sentence.
“I'm not going to beg for anything frog-face!” Goku poked his tongue out, infuriating Guldo. “I'm going to beat up the bad guy, of course! Now tell me where Frieza is- he’s dead meat!” Goku claimed- only to be met with more laughter. “You won’t tell me?! Fine! I’ll pound it out of you!” Goku shot forwards, taking the green warrior by surprise.
He drew in a breath of what seemed like terror, as Goku aimed for his stomach, but he swore he blinked the target away, for one moment he was there, the next he was gone!
He skidded to a stop in awe- no one could just flash away like that- could they? “Hey? Where’d you go?” Goku looked around wildly, too stunned to be angry, when Kinto’un came to his aid once more and carried him into the air for a birds eye view of the landscape.
He spotted the green offender hiding behind a half wrecked building panting vigorously, and decided to fly in silently. Meanwhile, Guldo looked around furiously to try to find the brat and inhaled sharply, and turned, to see the frozen image of the tailed brat right behind him. He nearly let his breath go in shock, but managed to run away again.
As most of you probably know, the Ginyu Guldo had a very special ability that made up his huge power level/ ki. When he drew in a breath and held it, he had the ability to stop time until he was forced to breathe out. Unfortunately for the frog like little man, since he was short and therefore had small lungs, he could only hold the ability for a few seconds- not to mention that such an ability took large concentration and skill.
It also took up a lot of power- which was why Guldo’s power level was so high. Other than this ability, he was rather weak compared to his other Ginyu comrades, but still a force to be reckoned with.
Goku had no idea about this power so he was understandably quite irritated when the green man he had tracked and snuck up on so well had vanished again. Kinto’un came to a flying halt in mid air and Goku turned round, only to find that his foe was standing in the same spot he had vanished from previously. He also flew to the same spot and hopped down from the magic cloud.
“How’d you do that?” he huffed in annoyance, folding his arms and looking (the two body guarding Saiyans noted) rather like a certain pissed off Saiyan prince.
“Ha! When I breathe in, I can stop time for a few seconds,” Guldo announced.
“Stop time?” Goku gasped.
