The year was 2569; the war between the Covenants and those of Earth had supposedly ended. It was said that the last and only Spartan to survive, was Spartan 117. Elsewhere in the galaxy, a group of Spartans still survived, who were forgotten in time. They became known as the Lost Spartans, they were the true elites, and this is their story.

On the far off planet of Salphara, much further away from the Covenant home world, Commander Mark Hudson awaited for the weekly supply drop. The war had already ended, but it would take months for that information to reach their solar system. "Commander, the supply drop won't be here for another hour," said Private Cody Watson, walking up behind him. Watson was the jingoist of the group, favoring war over anything else. "We should be scouting to find any anti-aircraft and exterminate the enemy,"

"Stop thinking about fighting for a minute private," Hudson said in a philippic tone. "We've been ordered to stay in our current position until the supplies arrive. Covenant are said to be in the area," Watson shook his head and walked back to the base to find Private Todd Bronson, the craven one of the team, talking about his family and wishing to be home.

"Hey, my great grandfather was-," he said before being interrupted by Private Watson. "Few people care about your genealogy Bronson," Watson said in a bilious tone. This caused Colonel Cleveland to laugh convivially, since it was hard to get Bronson to ever shut up. "Where is the Commander?" Bronson asked curiously. "He's outside being saturnine," replied Watson, still aggravated. "Oh, well I hope he's ok," said Bronson to himself.

Hours went by and the entire team started to worry, for the supply ship never arrived. Commander Hudson let out a long sigh before saying, "Colonel, climb up on of these trees and tell us if you find anything," Cleveland nodded, and climbed the tallest tree. He arrived to the top to look in awe, as he saw the supply ship set ablaze, no more than 1 mile in front of him. He frantically climbed down the tree and told his team of what he found. Hudson grew a neurasthenic expression on his face and said, "Which direction is it?" "North, in that direction," Cleveland replied pointing north. They all nodded in agreement to leave, and headed off for the crash site.
