A poem I wrote the day after one of my friends moved to Ohio. It's very sad. I cried the entire time I wrote it, because I now my friend would've loved it. The cover art is by joyo131 on photobucket.

Heart Song
We started out as enemies.
You hated me, I hated you.
We despised each other's existence.
How could we know what we would lose?
Time went on, we became friends.
Our fights were more playful now.
I grew to be quite fond of you,
Though I'll never know how.
Now we have to say goodbye.
I know I may never see you.
And now, at last, I realize,
That I have grown to love you.
My love is like a burning flame,
I want to keep you safe and warm.
But the icy waters of Time's tide
Come down faster than I could warn.
I want to scream and cry and shout.
But I know it will do no good.
I love you, I will still love you.
When I am covered by Death's hood.
I love you, my sweet, sweet love.
I'm afraid to leave you behind.
You will always be within my heart.
But I will leave part of my soul behind.

The red words form a message:
"We started out as enemies. We became friends. I grew to be quite fond of you. I'll never say goodbye. I realize I love you.
My love is like a burning flame; I want to keep you safe and warm.
But Time is faster than I.
I want to cry, I know I love you. I will still love you when I am Death's. I love you, my sweet love. You will always be within my heart, but I will leave my soul behind."
