Autumn Dreams - Chapter 1

The wind is cool and crisp, laced in sweetness with every breath. Walking out onto the soft white sand, staring out into the vast expanse of the ocean horizon, Axel shrugs his shoulders against the sudden chill whipping over his form. His long black coat flutters in the breeze and wraps itself around him in a comforting embrace. He sighs and takes in the beauty of this world.

The sun begins its descent far off in the distance, casting a soft autumn glow across the canvas of endless white shores. Palms dot the coast and sway in the wind, bending slightly in a dance with mother earth.

The sunset gives a stunning contrast to his own scarlet red hair and the endless forests of green beneath his brow. They widen slightly as he gazes at the waves rocking back and forth against the shore. A small smile grazes across his slightly chapped lips as he catches sight of another cloaked figure not far off in the distance. The being's identical coat swirls in the ocean breeze and his arms, outstretched to the heavens, embrace the breathtaking view.

This angel in the distance looks as if he could simply take flight to the heavens as he spreads his arms further apart, tilting his head back to the sky and smiling softly to himself. His blonde hair falls in wisps around his delicate features and his sapphire eyes glitter ever so slightly against the dying light.

He turns slowly towards the blot of black and red standing out against a world of endless blues, whites and sunset oranges like a sore thumb. A beautiful sight to behold really. His smile spreads wide enough to be seen by Axel and he quickens his pace, breaking into a run towards him.

Lost in thought, Axel watches the blonde haired angel running at him, the blackened wings of his coat fluttering behind him to catch up with his earthbound flight.

He wonders to himself why they come out here so often. Maybe it is because the weather never changes in their world. Always raining…always midnight. The stars almost lose their glow over time and the breeze during a storm is a lot less appealing than a breeze blowing over sun kissed shores.

They come to this place because it makes his angel feel at home, like he belongs somewhere. If Axel had a heart, it would ache at the thought of his angel feeling at home in any place other than his arms.
They come here because it is the only thing that brings smile to the blonde’s face other than being locked in an embrace with Axel. It makes him feel at peace with the nothingness of being a nobody.

The only thing that could make his happiness more complete is when…

...and Axel is caught off guard as the blonde angel crashes into him, causing them fall to the ground into each other. Axel flies backwards and into the reality of a pair of soft blue oceans taking him into their hold as they collapse into the sand.

Axel cries out in mild annoyance at the laughing angel pinning him to the soft white blanket of the shore.

Roxas smiles down at him and admires his lover thoughtfully. His red hair is accented with sugar grains of sand now and his eyes laugh along with him as he removes a glove. He then lifts one slender hand to caress the blonde’s face. Roxas’ cheeks are flushed red from the cold and his skin is exceedingly soft beneath his feather light touch.

Sapphire jewels slide shut as his body absorbs Axel’s eternal warmth. He feels himself lean down and rest his head against his lover’s chest, listening to the soft shallow breaths escaping his heartless body along with the soothing waves of the sea.

The cool air is a pleasing contrast to the perpetual heat rising off Axel as he lies between the sand and his angel. His body is a constant barrier for the dancing flames coursing through him at all times. The autumn breeze holds his inner fire at bay as he tightens his embrace around Roxas, nuzzling his face against the blonde feathers crowning his head to inhale the sweet and salty scent clinging to every strand.

Roxas sighs and lifts his gaze to meet with the striking jade of Axel’s eyes. Axel traces his gloveless hand through his angel’s hair and guides him closer, capturing his reddened lips against his own.

Axel’s lips are chapped slightly from the crisp breeze but the coarseness is overpowered by the softness of the kiss. Roxas sighs against his lover and beckons for entrance into the other's yielding mouth. He gladly submits and they drown themselves in each other’s natural heat.

Any hint of a chill threatening them quickly melts away with the setting sun as they lay with limbs entwined, blacks melding together as one. A steady beat inside them both takes to the rhythm of their kiss. Two halves of a person, lacking hearts, embraced together in well painted passion create a whole being, joined together by their love for one another. This gives life to the supposed empty hearts inside them.

The sweet autumn breeze swirls over the coast, carrying softened sighs and delicate whispers of love into the sunset horizon.

Roxas releases himself from Axel’s entrancing kiss and licks his lips, savoring the sweet taste of cinnamon and vanilla lingering against them. He pulls himself to his feet and sighs longingly, inhaling the scent of the sea and a freshly burning fire against the cool air.

Axel stands beside him and pulls his glove over his hand, now aching slightly from the cold. He smiles down at his angel, lost in a dream world of the ocean beyond.

Roxas turns his eyes to Axel gazing down at him and smiles back as he takes his hand into his. He finds himself at peace with the world around him as he feels his lover’s hand tighten around his.

The sun makes its final glittering appearance against the sky as it disappears into the sea, casting a purple hue over the world. The breeze continues to blow as stars dot the heavens above, brighter than Axel had ever imagined.

Roxas closes his eyes as they walk together, hand in hand, along the endless white shores, thinking to himself...
