Silence

all around me is silence
all around me is night
all i can see is black
i hear nothing

out of the darkness came a voice
it echoed
stirring light around me

i opened my eyes
i saw life
for the first time

i saw my feelings of pain
i saw my feelings of lonelyness
leave,
fly away like a departing feather

the shroud of black lifted
to show me
a world of blue and green

the voice
detached from any physical
spoke again

repeated

i listen
i hear
i know now the voice

the voice is mine.
