Heartbeat - Chapter 1

Everyone always seems to say that, "Each day brings new beginnings, new hopes... new dreams. Another life to live, another adventure full of thrills and excitement." But yet, they never speak of a new love found or another lost. Why is that? Do they not believe that could occur from the slightest chance? That the 'Adventure full of excitement' wouldn't bring two together?

Or is it because they don't wish to tell of the fortunes that come? No, to them 'fortune' is merely money and material based, and telling of a love that blossomed wouldn't make much sense to either the adventurer being told the story, or the young child that has yet to understand. Yes, that is the reason.

But, unlike many that are spoken, this one is to be different. Different? How so? Simple: the one woven within these pages that you hold are not merely of a Dragon being slain and a triumphant knight. No, the one that is to be told will speak of two that were brought together under strange, even... ironic circumstances.

Now, is that not a story that in itself is rich and full of adventure on its own? It has its twists and a climax that was never appreciated. But it is a story that has haunted me since its beginning and end--and now, it shall be passed on to you. Hold your loved ones close to your heart, for they can be easily lost.
