To be a wolf in a world full of sheep.

I wander the halls, and look around.
Cattle wander the halls.  As do I.
But I am not cattle, no sheep.
Few of us are the wolves, the shepherds,
A sense of direction in a directionless world.
They follow each other, hassle each other, talk in meaningless tones.
No meaning.
No life.
Why do I meander through the throngs,
Wolf in sheep's clothing?
Why do I not throw off my cloak, and attack?
They all know I am different,
And yet how different, they do not perceive.
Wolf in sheep's clothing,
Why do I not throw off my cloak, and attack?
The answer is simple,
For although there is no thought,
Still they would trample me,
In all their terror.
They would not know their power to destroy me,
Until I was flat,
Wolf in sheep's clothing.
Still I must wonder, how do they hope to succeed?
Sheep, the followers, Shepherds, the leaders,
All unaware of me, who is neither, not one of them,
But a Wolf, an outsider, an individual,
An independent thought.
Wolf in sheep's clothing,
Why do I not throw off my cloak, and attack?
One day, I will break off from the flock
And find my pack at last.
We will know each other, love each other,
And attack as one the meaningless flock,
Wolf in sheep's clothing.
I will remove forever my cloak,
And attack.
